Random

1) Memphis true freshman kicker - is known on the team as having a "hurt v a g i n a" - apparently lost a lot of respects of the players in a big way and coaches - sure we will be recruiting another one or two
3) Asst Basketball coach who was fired from his last job because he had a "dic pic" on the cloud of that university is no longer on our staff here. Was here for only one year. Was informed this weekend.

Even if griffin's numbers are approximations, the first subject #1 & #2 may have fed into the Big12-2-2+4's decision process for selections. Even if we know that our numbers are comparable to Cincy, UCF and UH, the reality (or perception of reality) of "Memphis is in a economically depressed area - it is what it is" may have been the dividing line.

Welcome to the club. Some of us have been banging that drum about past leadership decisions (pres and AD) for awhile whether on or off the boards. My guess is that the dividing line could include other things as well.

Griffin, good info. and accurate based on what I have heard too.

But there is a whole lot of self pity going on right now. Some folks need to be a little more optimistic about our future.

I estimate (whether season tix or walk up) that Memphis has a football base of 20-30k. Then another 10-15k fair weather fans that come when either the team is good, the opponent is good, or the weather is good. That is very normal for EVERY fan base.

Football attendance is down all across the country. Ole Miss had about 25-30% open seats...and that was for 2 top 25 teams and Arkansas in town.

A stadium of 35k packed out would be awesome and totally change the Memphis football atmosphere, program, and dynamic. Let's make it happen.

Why you gotta make this a racial issue?

But…but…but…. It wasn’t me! Slacks started it!

Not gonna put up with the cleaned up nonsense that occurred early in this thread. Ridiculous and unnecessary. Thanks
