.
I like that a G5 team is ranked reasonably high at 17 but I don't believe they are that good. They beat a Buffalo team by 3 that just beat a very mediocre ODU team by 1. Now I know comparing scores is not always a good measure but can be viable. I agree their outside of conference schedule is much below average.
CCU is good but I’m not convinced they are #16 good. I think App will beat them.

LaCajunFan, Coastal is on a different level than ULL. They have earned it, no farce 2020 covid wins or ranking. Coastal is legit, ULL not so much
LaTurds respectable baseball season must’ve been due to Covid too? Also that NIT appearance?

App fans really thought they would get a trade to go play a P5 at the Independence Bowl.
Oh btw Tech is 10-1 vs the Sunbelt
That salty Miami team finished 6-7
Iowa St. finished in the Top 10 with a NY6 Bowl Win…your ceiling was met years ago.

Wrong forum to being referring to La Tech that way, right FrankyP?

And Tech is just barely in front of ULM in that regard. LaTech only had 2,722 more butts in the seats last night than the Warhawks.
Okay Bud
Just curious Winston, was there anything not true in what bud said?
It was only a 1 game comparison on attendance - probably would be better to look at the last 5-10 years. Our budget is small but it thankfully much larger than ULM's
We have plently of problems in Ruston mostly to late game coaching I think - maybe we will meet the Cajuns in a bowl game later this year
Well, I agree with part of your attendance post, but not your statement on budgets. But I won’t get into that with you here, since I’m just a visitor.
As for attendance though, I think the best comparison would be to compare yours to App State: both very similar in size and pretty isolated towns. Yet everyone can see the kind of crowds and enthusiasm they draw/have. It’s truly awesome.
I further posit that being small and isolated has it’s advantages. With a lot less going on in the area it should make it a whole lot easier to get butts in seats with fired up fans. Guess the product on the field and game day experience both play a big factor in making that happen.
Just my thoughts.

I can agree with you on that. Bigger cities just have so much to offer as alternatives to fans going to the game. Personally, that’s why I like the idea of JMU.

Now don’t get me wrong, no one is more aware of our pitiful attendance numbers than UL fans. Extremely frustrating esp given all the recent success we have had. We just need to overcome issues and deal with it. That’s one of the reasons we just love our AD so much. For the home opener when we had 25k there concessions were beyond horrific. He stepped right in after, owned the problem and fixed many of the issues before the next game. Still, when u struggling to get fans in those kind of things really hurt.

It will be interesting to see them mentioned in the realignment threads then.

What are you crowing about? ULL didn't have but 17K fans in attendance at the last home game against Ohio.

I know…on a Thursday night with off/on rain.
I’ll admit we should do better.
