A couple of things to consider:

1) If Murray State opts to bail on the OVC, where do they go? MVC is certainly an option, but ASun is too. I would imagine basketball is more important at Murray State, and the MVC would seem more attractive. But, football for them would be clearly better in the ASun. It might depend a lot on the areas of the country they recruit the most from! And…

2) Given that the AAC will likely be looking for teams soon, what is the trickle down? Meaning what CUSA teams/ Sun Belt teams might be in the mix to move around? That could certainly have an impact on the SBC’s attitude on “pushing” anyone out!

Now official that Belmont will join the Missouri Valley and begin competition in 2022. This is the beginning of a process that could have direct impact on Little Rock. Not a good time to be without savvy leadership.

George has been around athletics for a long time. He somehow kept the program going through the Covid pandemic despite a loss of season ticket revenue, surely a decrease in donations, and reduced enrollment (less student fees). I think we'll land on our feet somewhere, but I'm not ready to hazard a guess where that might be.

We are good travel partners for TxSt and AState. We are both decent in men’s basketball and LR is probably the best women’s BB program in the league,

Someone did propose adding Southern Miss and Marshall, and keeping LR/UTA and ultimately having 12 for football and 14 for all sports and that's an interesting proposition to me (I haven't looked into the viability of it though).

I would be fine with that. Although the Valley certainly has some upsides, I'd rather our teams avoid fly/driving into snow storms all winter. Although a "southern" division with UTA, Belmont, Murray State, MoState, and SIU wouldn't be bad at all.
