We just have a lot of unknowns as far as injured players, newcomers, and our guard trio taking the next step.
We're not going to be a great shooting team, but I think if we play a little tougher, we can play bully ball at the rim and draw a ton of fouls.
I see Temple as being a middle-of-the-pack team that could win up to 18 or 19 games this season, due to the youth of the team (8 of their players have 4 years of eligibility remaining). If enough of their new players outperform expectations, and if they have a relatively injury-free season, they might be able to squeak into the CBI or NIT. They could be fun to watch.
Temple is blessed by having two high-scoring guards. However, they both play best with the ball in their hands, and neither had a positive assist-to-turnover ratio last season. In addition, they only played together in five games last season. They're going to have to pass the ball more often. If they don't, Temple's newest guard (6 assists/game last year) may find himself playing more mpg than expected.
I think a lot hinges on Jeremiah Williams. Is he ultimately an 11 PPG kinda scorer, or is he someone who can score 15-20 PPG. That's a big difference.

Can Dunn and Battle find the formula to work together? That is the key offensive question. They did not play together much last year due to injuries.

And Dunn, while leading the countries on fouls drawn, really needs to play in control and not force things so much trying to get fouled. Hopefully he got much stronger so he can be the one bullying people.

Same here. Reports on him over the summer have been really complimentary. Leaner, quicker, more athletic. Best rebounding guard in the conference. One of the best defensive players in the conference. 40% 3 pointer. How does he not even make third team? Joke.

I did not get the sense that they could play together well, as if each was vying to be the starter, and thus not playing team ball. Sharing the BB is key to winning.

nolley is the most overlooked returning 1st team all conference player ive ever seen lol... when you guys landed bates, you guys were already pushing nolley to the bench in your forum...and now they have Nolley not on any conference team..and the issue is not listing lester
And where is Earl Timberlake? I think if the guy was honest you would have at least five maybe six Memphis players in the first 15 players listed. But that's just too many so he didn't LOL
earl timberlake has the sweetest name. memphis is gonna be sick. penny's larry's lead recruiter. i'm pulling for penny though. i can attest to owning a magic jersey in seventh grade and the kicks to boot
