Since we are going to be (at least arguably) the strongest basketball conference and my team potentially has good news coming in a little over an hour, I figured it would be a good time to kick off the official basketball recruiting thread.

Daniel Skillings, a rising 4-star class of 2022 wing from Philadelphia, will be announcing his commitment at 3pm EST today. It had seemed like it was going to come down to Cincinnati vs. NC State, with NC State potentially having the edge; however, crystal balls on 247 and Rivals the past 24 hours have been favoring the Bearcats. Here's to hoping we snag our first big basketball commit as a member of the Big 12!

Coach Wes Miller is doing a great job rebuilding the mess he inherited. By the time the Bearcats are in the Big 12, he'll have them ready to compete.

TCU football is no stranger, y’all’s basketball however I’m not to familiar with but pretty sure TCU won’t be a cakewalk either.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Big 12 membership is going to substantially boost both the football and basketball recruiting of Cincinnati, UCF, Houston, and BYU. Recall that Houston was denied B12 membership because other B12 schools felt Houston was a recruiting threat.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Big 12 membership is going to substantially boost both the football and basketball recruiting of Cincinnati, UCF, Houston, and BYU. Recall that Houston was denied B12 membership because other B12 schools felt Houston was a recruiting threat.

We've already seen a significant increase in the caliber of football recruit UC is offering. Now whether they can reel them in or not is another question. But it's hard to believe this isn't a result of a "Big 12 bump" combined with UC's sustained success over the last few years. As to basketball? Who the hell knows with the new NIL landscape. It's a factor in football for sure, but much more of an impact in basketball IMO.

Just saw that we got a CB for 3-star 6'6 SF Josh Reed out of GA who is announcing on Friday. Currently ranked 149 for the class of 2022. Looks like a great addition to the class if it happens.

Great news. I was hoping we could land this kid! We'll see what happens on Friday, but good to see the CB either way.

Thanks! It’s gonna be a while before we have a lot to look forward to during football season. I do like our new coach, he’s just got a helluva hole out of which to climb.

I haven't noticed Sage Tolentino, 7'0" 210 listed as a new commit for the Bearcats. He committed in July of 2021.
