Exclamation 2021 P5 Transfers
The Tigers picked up a number of P5 transfers in 2021.
TCU OL Austin Myers is starting at OT, Tenn P Joe Doyle is punting& kicking xtra points for us, and Mich St CB Julian Barnett is on the 2-deep roster as is Cincinnati’s OL Jakari Robinson.

We now Arz QB Grant Gunnell is injured. I’m surprised we have not seen DL Greg Emerson, a Tenn transfer, nor MSU’s DL Devon Robinson, or Ark WR Shamar Nash, or Mich St’s OL Devonte Dobbs. I assume they are with the program just not playing. Any word on them?

RE: 2021 P5 Transfers
good questions. this is exactly the type of thing that we should have or will see in an article. Also, who are the promising new players that are looking good in practice. Pretty boiler plate stuff.

I'm not calling Cincy P5 yet. They aren't playing in a P5 conference.

In the good old days, players would play if they are decent. For all of our flaws defensively, we are still one of the top 20-35 programs in the country. You have to be really good to get playing time at most positions.

Just asking a question. Hoping others might have information I am not privy to. Most were touted as potential contributors for this season. Is there something to stir here Cletus?

The only thing you are stirring is curiosity and that is a good thing. Since the city of Memphis no longer has a newspaper the only information we get is always questionable. At least real newspapers verify and vet their information, unlike talk radio.

John 0.0 Martin?

I can't believe any Tigers fan in their right mind would listen to that clown.

Gunnell was going to play a big role with us before he got hurt. He would have started at least the first game and then we would have gone from there.

Some of the others listed, even though they came from P5 schools they had deficiencies in some areas - which is why they are here. It's like Asa Martin, from Auburn - from the outside with his HS career and coming from Auburn everyone thought he would be great. He has a huge challenge w fumbling...a lot, in practice, scrimmages etc - MN would not play him until he corrected things. He fumbled at Ark State - at a key time. He has to work himself back into the rotation.

I know a few of them have not lived up to even a marginal hype - there is still time.

New systems, still early in the year - some of this will work itself out. Transfers are a big part of each season now.

The sad thing is I actually like Jason Smith. But pairing him with Martin is cringeworthy. All Martin does now is brag about living in Southwind … He married into money, and just comes across as a bigger a hole than he already was before…

Unfortunately, Jason is just boring. He has a boring personality, he was boring as the beat writer and he is boring as a radio host. John is a clown, but as a clown, he brings some entertainment value. I dont like him at all, and often his clownish personality brings the show down, but sometimes it is the only thing keeping the show interesting.

Eddie Lewis came from Rutgers, think he's gotten a couple of catches and returned on some punts.

hopefully he can replace Calvin next season...as our speed receiver.
He's just .08 of a second? slower than Austin in the 40 yard dash.
