Texas is No 1 for a reason and no way you are going to beat them again. However, Rice lacks any urgency and the coach needs to shake things up and also look in the mirrow.

Yes, Texas is #1 for a reason, and there service game, setting, blocking and offensive efficiency is as good as it gets, BUT...aside from Nicole, there was absolutely no offense. Zilch. Nada. Carly picked the wrong match to have an off-game setting, but Anota has lost all confidence. She's not the player she was the past two seasons. I've never seen her so passive in her kill attempts. Maruska's efficiency (or lack thereof) is a real liability. She had 5 unforced errors on kill attempts. Ditto Courtley, but on far fewer attempts. And for whatever reason, Ellie only had 10 attacks, and only 3 or 4 were actual kill attempts. We shot .042 for the match. The only other offensive player (aside from Nicole) that appeared to be aggressive out there was left-handed Ford, but she saw very limited action. Not sure why Shaylie Shaw saw so little action as she had played more than Anota the past several matches, and looked good.
Just an ugly, ugly beat down. We definitely need to regroup because UNT could beat us this weekend if we play like we did tonight. Let's not forget, it was Nicole and improved defense that carried us to wins over LSU and SHS last weekend. Very little supporting offense from anyone.
BTW, it was great to see the student section filled to capacity. Too bad the team couldn't give them a better match to allow them to be a factor.

I might have said that last year, too.
But we beat them two years in a row.
We are capable of top ten level play too, but we’ve seen precious little of such this season.
