a. TSU reprises the accomplishment of their baseball team 17 years ago and pulls the incredible upset
b. Rice ekes out a narrow victory
c. Pound the rock works against an inferior defense, Rice blows them out by 60, and Bloomgren becomes even more entrenched in his offensive mindset

C is very unlikely. Pound the rock is not designed to blow out opponents by 60 points. And the way the Owls execute it, it’s even less likely.

A would be a disaster unless JK is ready to pull the string on Bloom, so I don’t think it’s A either.

B is most likely, but I really think it will be D - The Ocean of Soul wins halftime.

I vote for a different D. With Constantine as QB, we will win easily (3 touchdowns or more) and will throw the ball similar to what Collins did against North Texas last year (he was 23 for 34 for 327 yards in that game).

Texas puts up 70 points on Tech, and had 19 more yards against the Red Raiders than they did against Rice.

And TT put 35 points up against UT while Rice managed, let’s see, 0.

So TT kept UT's score low by running clock on those TD drives?

Didn't we actually win TOP last week, as crazy as it sounds with such a lopsided blowout?

Yes, by 30:34 to 29:26. TexasU did win TOP versus TT today, 30:06 to 29:24. So basically 50-50 both games.

The crowd size reminds me of a time we played Minnesota and had a rain delay. When we came out of the tunnel after that delay, there was literally 10 fans in the stands.....

By the way, I would have loved to be there to support the team but previous obligations and last minute work demands prevented it.... The kids on the field deserve support.

Well I didn't anticipate the Rice defense looking that bad, but I'd say I pretty much nailed the offensive expectation. Yes, we had more yards on the ground (349) than passing (271) but we were 18 of 23 in passing. Anyone who thinks we just pounded the rock all day is wrong, and misguided.

Defense has to figure out where it is going wrong. Maybe the guys out are more valuable than we think.

But Constantine/McCaffrey is definitely the right combination on offense.

So Bloomgren's offense works great against a lower level FCS team (no offense meant to TSU, but they are trying to climb out of a bigger hole than Rice). Where was this balance versus the rest of Rice's pre-season, I mean non-conference, opponents? Let's see how the Owls do against a decent CUSA team, i.e., UTSA and UAB, not USM (again, no offense to USM which has its own issues) before JK starts working on that multi-year extension based on out-scoring TSU.
