SEC officials
Ours was not the only game with questionable SEC officiating last night.

Even with instant replay the officials at the Auburn/Penn St game couldn't do a simple thing like get the down correct.

They made a mistake on the down market and caused Penn St to have to punt on 3rd down.

They even went to the replay booth to go over the plays and still got it wrong.

They finally realized they had gotten the down wrong after the punt and during the media timeout after the change of possession.

Penn St was called for grounding on a first down play.

They had changed the marker to 2nd down after the incompletion.

After the penalty, they changed it to third down.

Then Penn St ran another play and they changed it to 4th down.

Marc Curles is a piece of #$%& . His crews usually follow his lead. How he keeps a job is mind boggling.

He screwed Arkansas so bad during a Florida game, that the league did not dare send him to work an Arkansas game for years at the request of Arkansas.

He can still GTH

https://www.espn.com/college-football/ne...id=4583062

The most egregious thing was a spot they gave Tebow for a first down when he was way short.

That said, the Tigers were on the right side of the suck yesterday.
Take.it.

Another getting hosed by the Curles crew from last year

Losers
SEC referees: As the old saying goes, if you notice the refs, it's probably a bad thing. This week, the SEC refs were the stars of the show ... for all the wrong reasons. Things started going sideways in the Alabama-Florida game, beginning with a number of inconsistent pass interference calls and ending with a clock issue in the final two minutes. Then, a crew of SEC refs inexplicably lost track of downs during Penn State's battle with Auburn, forcing a Nittany Lions punt on third down. There was also a controversial targeting call among numerous other issues in Happy Valley.

But the wildest call of the day came Saturday afternoon when SEC officials incorrectly allowed a dead punt to be advanced in Memphis' 31-29 win over Mississippi State. Tigers wide receiver Calvin Austin III picked up the live ball and returned it for a game-deciding touchdown, but because a back judge (incorrectly) ruled it dead on the field, it should never have counted. The call was so confusing that the SEC officials actually released a statement acknowledging the mistake. College football is one of the toughest sports to officiate, but it's a shame when these things take away from the product.

Not sure who wrote this but the statement " a back judge (incorrectly) ruled it dead on the field, it should never have counted." Still not clear that it was actually ruled dead but the fact it wasn't dead if they did rule it dead would have screwed Memphis out of a TD.

Interesting...national-level stupidity from CBS then. They don't realize the punt wasn't dead, nor the rule allowing advancement of it. Looks like Mr. Jeyarajah needs some schooling.

This. The false narrative by the media is frustrating. The ball was not dead. The whistle had not blown. Calvin Austin is not being given enough credit for a tremendous heads up play.

The officials got the call right by allowing the touchdown.

Exactly, this was an outstanding play made by Calvin Austin. Remember the ball is not dead until the whistle is blown or the ball ends in the official's hands.

Not only this - which is absolutely true - but the narrative is that Memphis should somehow apologize for screw-ups from MissStake and the refs. We were the only ones who did things RIGHT on that play.

(And don't give me the two #4's on the field - it's noise, and I'm over it.)

Another bad call was a MSU 3rd down pass in the 1st half than was low, bobbled and trapped, accepted as a catch & never reviewed. I think this eventually led to a MSU score.
