“The inadvertent signal aspect of the play is reviewable and replay should have stopped the game to review for a potential inadvertent signal,” the league said. “The subsequent review would have placed the ball at the spot where the signal was made.

On the same play, two Memphis players were both wearing the No. 4 jersey, a rule violation. The SEC admitted it should have resulted in a 5-yard penalty.

Austin’s touchdown gave Memphis a 28-17 lead in a game the Tigers won 31-29.“

He had picked up the ball before he started the signal. That is why he stopped the signal and didn't blow the whistle.

When the sec reviews the Missippi St o-line holding so bad we could see it in row 34 and issue a statement that the refs missed dozens of calls then they will have more credibility — even then , they can suck it

The SEC really messed the play up didn't they? They claim they also messed up by not calling a penalty on Memphis. After reviewing the tape two of our guys are wearing the number 4 which should have resulted in a penalty of five yards. Total sec **** ups.

Of course the SEC refs also gave Mississippi State extra time on the clock. The clock should have stopped at 1:58 in the 4th quarter after a Memphis time out. Instead the refs allow the clock to remain at 2:10. Total **** ups.
