Week 3 - Other Scores
So we are only three games in...and yet to play UT as I type this. But Arkansas is destroying Georgia Southern 38-10 with 10 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.

SMU beats LaTech on a Hail Mary as time runs out, with the ball bouncing off 3 Tech defenders in the end zone...

DB had a big game in Commerce today, meeting West Florida, along with A&M-C a recent D-II national champ ...

And the Argonauts won the second half 21-0 to beat the Lions, 35-17.

Thoroughly enjoying watching G5 beat ranked P5 as Fresno St. is up 2 TD's at half at UCLA.

Rather than 'pound the rock', clever offensive schemes that spread that UCLA bigger/faster talent out to leverage the entire field vs. challenging them in-the-box w/ who has more manhood (answer..it is UCLA).

Better schemes despite inferior talent can win/compete. Inferior schemes w/ inferior talent is what we saw happen in Austin tonight.

Toad's Hawaii Rainbow Warriors lost an astoundingly sloppy game Saturday night to San Jose State, 17-14.

Both teams had an incredible number of dropped passes and each punted 11 times. Several multiple-bounce interceptions added to the Pachinko nature of the teams' passing games.

Arizona lost to Northern Arizona…the first time since 1932. They have played roughly every other year since 2002

Northern Arizona and Fresno proved that little guys can beat the big guys. Too bad Rice isn't in that group.

This one shocks me. For whatever reason, some friends and I stopped in Tucson on the way to California some years back. When getting some food we realized that there was a game going on over at the campus stadium, so we got some cheap tickets and headed over to check out the action. Turns out it was Arizona versus Northern Arizona, and the game was such an obvious mismatch that we left after around 20 minutes. Northern Arizona was completely overwhelmed by Arizona's size and speed.

That night wasn't so long ago. If you would've told me at the time that just few years later NAU would actually win in Tucson, I wouldn't have believed it. Sure, Arizona is probably pretty bad now as far as Pac 12 teams go, but NAU obviously showed up to do more than just collect a paycheck. Mind-boggling result.

Next week's opponent (Texas Southern) plays the other NAU in two weeks. That other NAU of course is North America University, which I'm sure everyone knows is now the 5th college in Houston to play NCAA D1 football. Well they play some D1 opponents (they lost 80-0 at D2 West Alabama this past Thursday). You can probably even see NAU from the roof of Rice Stadium if you look to the southwest. It's a 5 or 6 story building in Stafford a bit to the north and west of 59 (and the Fountains shopping center) on West Airport.

Like Arkansas did, TSU will probably be looking past us…

Wow!

Why? Does he hand off on first and second down better, or complete the third and long pass better?

North American U football is a strange story. They threw together a football team they fraudulently claimed was NAIA and started scheduling whoever. A couple of weeks into the season and the NCAA and NAIA announce that games against them are meaningless. Now their opponents including TSU have cancelled their NAU games. That game was to be TSU’s homecoming.

Still showing on Texas Southern schedule

https://tsusports.com/sports/football/schedule/2021

Lamar (FCS) and Louisiana College (NAIA) have already played them this year. Lamar counted as an exhibition while I believe LC treated as a game

West Alabama (D2) played this week and beat them down more than even Lamar

You would think with their recruiting pipeline from Bishop Sycamore they’d be on a more solid footing
