Building and maintaining successful college football and basketball programs is so much about the coach. Every season you see teams rise up after years of mediocrity with a new coach to become a winner. It is also why the power schools will pay so much for one of these guys. The coach is such a huge piece of the success and you either have a good one or you do not. Jury is still out on what exactly NIU has in football and basketball but you can only tolerate so many bad losses.

There are plenty of G5 football schools and mid-major basketball schools that have accomplished a heck of a lot more in a lot less time that NIU’s current coaches. Riding through multiple massive losing seasons is not a good look for the coaches, the athletic department, the fans, or the university. If NIU is not capable of maintaining a reasonable standard for its revenue sports then NIU has no business staying in D1.

Ball state threw for 400 yards against our corners. They’ve thrown for 14 yards in the first half vs Toledo. Toledos DBs are very aggressive

The Ball State QB started zero games before this season. He barely played over his career and completely shredded NIU. That was the best game of his career by a mile and he has not even come close to putting up those types of numbers since.

Rourke is light years ahead of every other MAC QB

Seems like this thread deserves a bump back up to the top after the mens FB and BB weekend. We can easily do better than Sean Frazier, hope he moves on soon. Problem is there's zero chance he's about to be courted by another institution, so we have to rely on NIU/Freeman to get off their safe-high horse and take car of business on behalf of NIU.

NIU needs fresh blood in its athletic leadership ASAP.

Why would Frazier have anything to do with that website? You want him overseeing everything IHSA because we host the games every other year at Huskie Stadium?
