The boys down the alley don't like being characterized as being in the street. You got to keep your beer in a sack on the street.

RE: Cards beat ucf 42-35
We don't play Louisville anymore and we do play UCF. It is better for our opponents to be successful so when we beat them it means more. It would also be better for the local media to report more on the conference the home team is in than it is for them to report on the SEC. The Commercial Appeal and the Daily Memphian do more reporting on the PAC and the ACC than they do the AAC. That is bush league of them. I had rather watch an AAC team play anybody than I would Alabama play Georgia. I think Tulane was robbed at OU and am hoping they put ole ms out of it misery tomorrow.
It might rain tomorrow. Dress for it and enjoy the game. If you don't bring some rain gear don't complain about getting wet. It will be warm so a poncho is really all you need. You can get one for a few bucks at the dollar store.

The Commercial Appeal might as well not even be a newspaper. It's whole paper is like 3 pages and isn't even in Memphis anyway.

ESPN Report:
UCF Quarterback "Dillon Gabriel exited Cardinal Stadium on Friday night with his left arm in a sling and a possible season-ending left shoulder injury. Gabriel, who led the nation in yards passing per game in 2020, was carted off the field and X-rays were taken of his shoulder after the game. He was injured on the game's final play, a multi-lateral attempt at a touchdown by the Knights".
Our game with UCF is about a month away...

I wouldn't say we were run off the field. We were competitive against Penn State.

Had we passed more..we could have won that game.
Also wouldn't have hurt if Florida State had hired Norvell after that game...

TigerinFl,
There was a time when we played a very good OOC SCHEDULE, RIPP enjoyed playing the BIG, Ike traveled to Michigan state for his first BIG game. Ripp's schedule helped him in recruiting, after he left along came the CUPCAKES who we devoured with Ripp's recruits and of course went to CUPCAKE bowl games.

RE: Cards beat ucf 42-35
When our conference schedule elevated with the AAC the OOC schedule softened
But because even the current AAC is still a jump behind the larger conferences, trying to replace one soft game with a stronger opponent is in order. Easier said than done, but if it feels better, with the schedule for his year already set, do nothing but complain about it every single post

Ike wonders why we no longer play Lewisville anymore Ike believes it would be a nice OOC game
At one time a nice rivalry
We need a A.D. who can upgrade our OOC schedule
USF signed a 2 for 1 with Louisville. The might give us a deal like that. Let that sink in.
I saw Memphis play them in that dumpy triple A baseball stadium before the figured out football was the ticket. UCF didnt even field a team. Both those schools passed us by.
Not on the field they haven't. In football conference affiliation they have.

Thx for the update. I saw him get hit and saw the staff attend to him as Louisville was celebrating their win.
We'll see how good their backup is.

With UC trailing now and playing at ND next week. AAC may not have the group of 5 representative this year unless we do something.

uhhhhh .... sir we got in the Cotton Bowl because we won the conference and the league championship plus everything else aligned in other conferences as well.
personally I want to play the best and not just win just because of the University of Phoenix or Iowa School For The Blind had an open date three years ago and we needed a game that same weekend. if you play the big boys and you win ..... guess what? that sells tickets. that gets people excited about going to see a game. that gets recruits thinking about Memphis. that gives your kids a chance to go and play at major venue and compare themselves against the best. that gets the media talking about you. with the parody that college football has today, you never know what is going to happen in a game.
so continue to find easy teams so you can feel good that your record is 10-2, 11-1 or whatever. Hey let's stay in our comfort bubble we've created so we can point to our winning record that is one of the many reasons the Tigers sitting exactly where we are today.
if you want to be the man, ya got to beat the man!!
