lol, how ironic is this? Time to see if the libs at all these colleges will agree to practice the socialism they are teaching as gospel these days.

“ we believe in Socialism we believe in Socialism we believe in social“. OK, then give us your money and let us decide what’s best for it. “ to hell with socialism to hell with socialism to hell with socialism“ lmao

They only like socialism when the redistribution is someone else's money, not theirs.

RE: Commission proposes re-distribution of $3B
Some of this commission’s agenda could be considered a little exclusive. Four months ago, the commission released another report (link below) which called on universities, athletics conferences, the College Football Playoff (CFP) and the NCAA to take decisive action to address policies and practices that create barriers to the success of Black college athletes, stating:

The NCAA and its member institutions must act now to transform college sports by taking decisive action in four areas:

1 Closing educational opportunity gaps to create an equitable pathway for Black athletes’ success during and after college.

2 Holding institutions accountable in recruitment and hiring to achieve diversity and equity in athletics leadership.

3 Investing in programs that support and enhance Black athletes’ college experience and promote inclusion and belonging.

4 Creating more equitable opportunities for Black athletes to assume leadership roles, especially in advocacy and governance.

Page 62 of The Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport report (link below) from 2020 broke down percentages of NCAA student athletes based on race as follows:

White – 54.0% Male / 62.9% Female
Black or African American – 23.1% Male / 12.0% Female
Hispanic or Latino – 5.3% Male / 5.6% Female
Asian – 1.4% Male / 2.2% Female
Hawaiian or Pacific Islander - 0.6% Male / 1.3% Female
American Indian or Alaskan Native – 0.3% Male / 0.4% Female
Two or More Races – 5.3% Male / 5.7% Female

I wonder how the commission’s call for universities to focus on black athletes was accepted by American Indian or Alaskan athletes, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander athletes, Asian American athletes, Hispanic or Latino athletes, and mixed-race athletes? Exclusion will not will a lot of support. The Social Justice Warriors are going to have a free-for-all.

I had a friend in college that was of Indian descent, but was born in Africa before coming to the US. He was told he couldn’t apply for the “African-American” scholarship, because apparently that is just code for “Black”.

No one in the SEC is upset when they get a crap ton of money because Bama, UGa, and LSU (recently) are bringing home the dollas while UTk, MSU, Vandy, Aubrun, etc are sucking the teat of redistribution....

No. The model is called Socialism. And actually... Communism.

This is a revenue sharing system, not socialism. Terms like socialism and communism aren't appropriate for the inner workings of private organizations like the NCAA. Otherwise most large businesses could be considered "socialist" because they generate revenue from the collective efforts of owners, management and employees and then management distributes the profits however it deems appropriate.

The NCAA is considering a new model for redistributing revenue that the NCAA generates itself via TV contracts, tournaments, etc. and already distributes to member institutions. It would be socialism-like if the NCAA was talking about confiscating school's own ticket revenues and donations and reallocating, or communism if it wanted to confiscate the stadiums. Neither applies here.

Somehow, the lower third of P5 programs that we outclass every season sit on their monthly dole check from the government's TV money paid by Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, et al.

That's also fair.

You're going to break their brains with comparisons like that.

Some of my company's business units are highly profitable and account for both profit and a vast majority of our shareholder dividend, many others have lost money.

That ain't communism, that's capitalism 101.

Who am I though, they're on a roll and I'll get on board.

We need college sports McArthy hearings ASAP!

Yeah, what's the name of the "independent commission" that structures your company's revenue distribution. Give these folks a call. They can even let you know if you are being paid
a fair amount. You dont have to vote for them or any other tough stuff. Theyll just let you know what's fair and theyll only take a fair amount from you to let you know who deserves what.

I just can't wrap my head around this crazy conspiracy thinking about everything, even including revenue sharing by college athletic programs. The NFL equally distributes 61% of their revenue. The NBA about 50%. The United States redistributes about 25% of GDP, the same as every P5 league averages right now, Sweden 43%. I have taken a lot of vaccines and other shots over my lifetime. Santa Claus isn't real. 50% of all marriages do not end in divorce. The earth is round.
