That is interesting. I think that they have to hire someone who is comfortable living in Southern California and that can keep the talent at home. The fact that Bieniemy played high school football in Southern California should help and I think he still has family in LA. He held people accountable at UCLA. He was also a good recruiter at UCLA, where he landed MJD out of De La Salle High School in Concord. But he won't have Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce.

I am wondering how Bieniemy hasn’t locked down a pro HC gig yet, but see going to SC as career suicide if he ever wants to be a pro football head coach. Carroll had two stints as one before going back to the college level.

SC is a dumpster fire if it does try to interview Franklin from Penn State. LA is just waiting to remind folks of failures at Vandy. Plus, Franklin is something like 1-12 versus top 15 teams since being at Penn State?

Bill O’Brien I hear is getting name dropped. That is interesting…

Luke Fickell, Cincinnati coach: Fickell has to be the No. 1 candidate considering Bohn hired him at Cincinnati in December 2016. Fickell has almost single-handedly put the Bearcats on the map and into the Big 12. Without that excellence, Cincinnati would still be a place that hired Tommy Tuberville. Ryan Day isn't going anywhere anytime soon. That's Fickell's alma mater. USC is the next best fit at this point.
When the time comes that Notre Dame or Ohio State start looking around for a new head football coach Cincinnati fans will start worrying. Until that day arrives, Luke ain't goin nowhere.....

I don't see Fickell being the next Gary Patterson. In all seriousness if Patterson wanted to move up in his career he should have taken a few jobs around 2004-2006. I just think he got to comfortable at TCU.
That would not have been a possibility. In 2004, Gary was coming off a losing season, plus he remarried that year to a Ft. Worth girl, who lived/worked in the Metroplex her whole life but for her college years at UT.
