I agree that the long road trip to a foreign land 2 time zones away is a factor too.
There are plenty of 26 year old men playing for them after LDS missions and many of those men have experienced getting their heart ripped out by JMU in the 2017 and 2019 playoffs.
They will be angry men bent on getting revenge. I don’t see an easy win in this one and Jay Hill probably won’t sleep as he uncovers every stone in preparation for the Dukes.
They are a really good FCS program that needs a landmark win to move into FCS elite category.
We’ll see what the injury report says and that includes JMU who hasn’t played with their best players yet.
Though it was Weber State’s largest margin of victory since a 63-17 win over Portland State on Nov. 11, 2017, there was a cost. As starting quarterback Bronson Barron fought for all 5 yards he needed on a third-and-5 to open the third quarter, he got hit from the side and his knee took an impact, knocking him out of the game.
His status will be questionable as WSU (1-1) prepares to host No. 3 James Madison next week.
“It’s an MCL. It’s hard to tell exactly how bad that is,” Hill said. “Sometimes it’s a week, sometimes it’s two weeks, sometimes it’s four weeks. We just don’t know at this point, the doctors will tell us more going forward. But he’s a tough kid, now, and he’ll do everything he can to get back. He wants to be back.”

If Barron is out it looks like Randall Johnson is the backup. A Big, 6'5", 235, 25 year old. Weber is his 3rd school. JUCO, Middle Tennessee prior.

On that highlight, Dixie State was getting some pressure on the QB. I cannot imagine we won't be able to do the same.

Hope between the travel, atmosphere/air, and all the FBS talk the players and coaching staff aren't too distracted. They seem to have been laser focused so far this fall season, but think this might be closer because of aforementioned items. JMU 31- Weber State 20

I'm note sure the players are closely following the FBS talk.

Vanhorse suspended indefinitely per Madia. Good thing we have 5 other capable backs.

not good. that kat was a weapon with his speed. the word 'indefinitely' usually means more than suspended pending findings.

RE: Week 3 JMU @ Weber St
People on here are vastly overestimating how impactful the elevation change is going to be. Hburg is about 1,300 ft, Ogden is 4,300 ft. I live in Colorado and can attest that if you have any cardiovascular strength (i.e. the entirety of the JMU football team), a jump of 3,000 ft isn't going to be significantly detrimental. If the game was at 10,000 ft it would be a different story though.
If elevation actually mattered that much CU and the Broncos would be complete juggernauts...they are anything but that.

Arrested at 2527 Bayberry Lane Harrisonburg, VA
Google Maps shows us that is the end of a road in an apartment complex.

Losing too many key players too early this year. We need the mojo to go back in the other direction so title hopes aren’t dashed.
I liked VanHorse a lot as a receiving back and a kick returner. The backfill won’t be as good at either of those positions.

Must have been one hell of a party.
On the bright side maybe he can get a NLI deal in with a good DUI lawyer in exchange for legal services. Too Soon?

Yeah, Conner Madden, Liam Fornadel, VanHorse and lingering injuries w/ Greene, McCormick, Hampton and Percy. We could use a stretch of weeks with no lost players.

That makes me a little uneasy in that I’d prefer they fly out a day earlier to get acclimated to the time zone and altitude but I know they are student athletes and class schedules may be a factor.
NFL teams do this. It takes 7-10 days to get acclimated to the altitude so the less time youre there the better. Fly in late, play the game and get out of there before you really start to feel the effects. Also Hetherman did this at maine when they flew out there a couple years ago in the playoffs. Its only 4700' above sea level. Not even as bad as the broncos so i think we'll be fine
It wouldn't be that hard to have them to run the last half-mile up to Reddish Knob, which is 4,400.

On the flip side we've never had more ships, or been deeper (less QB).

on the flip side, other than QB, almost the entire team that is playing will be back.

That's Copper Beech student apartments. I wouldn't be surprised if he passed out earlier in the night and left early morning to go back home. I always wondered how many people get popped after seemingly "sleeping it off", but still have above a .08 BAC.
