N'Kosi Perry Offensive POTW
He looked good...maybe the best QB we have ever had at FAU.

Think you posted this twice so might want to blow away the other thread

Robison did some very good things for us in winning a cusa title. If perry can duplicate that then the discussion is on for that title

RE: N'Kosi Perry Offensive POTW
I think you need to change the thread title to CO Offensive POTW

Quote:Western Kentucky quarterback Bailey Zappe was voted Conference USA Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. He becomes the fifth different Hilltopper quarterback to earn the honor since WKU joined the league prior to the 2014 season.

A week after throwing for 424 yards against UT Martin, Zappe one-upped himself against one of the FBS' best defenses from a year ago. At Army on Saturday, he completed 28-of-40 passes (70%) for 435 yards and three touchdowns with one interception while also adding a rushing touchdown.

His 435 yards were the most allowed by an Army defense to a single quarterback since at least 2000.

I didn't goto WKU, so I didn't recognize the "CO".

A big congrats to FAU's N'Kosi Perry and WKU's Bailey Zappe. With QB's like this, CUSA is starting to look like "old times" again, when CUSA' s QB numbers were off the charts. That's fun stuff to watch.

RE: N'Kosi Perry Offensive POTW
For me, based on pure QB play:

1. Rusty Smith
2. Chris Robison
3. N'Kosi Perry
4. Jason Driskel

In no particular order, QB's ahead of Driskel: Smith, Robison, Perry, Jared Allen.

Jared Allen? Really? Did you actually see him play?

Driskel had better completion % (61% vs. 56%) against better opposition (Jared Allen started against FCS opposition most of his career).

In 4 years where he did not have to fight an incumbent QB. He started 44 games. Plus he did not start three of the games during the four years. So, he only won 24 of his starts.

1. Smith
2. Robison (would’ve been 1 if he didn’t cut his tenure short)
4. Quez (because he was a playmaker who could carry the team)
4. Driskel (Quality game manager. A ton of screens and slants to TEs in Kiffins offense made him accurate. Didn’t turn the ball over a ton)
5. Perry (resume is too short)

Starting from scratch is more difficult than beating an incumbent. And considering that he accounts for 26 of our 109 total program wins that says something.

75% of which were at the FCS level.

And, if you do not have to compete against an established QB, it is much easier to start. A luxury that neither Driskel nor Smith had.
