We have tried to let you guys show your own personal restraint in posting here for a while now, but it seems you are all intent on name calling, reputation spamming, pointless trolling, reporting every hurt feeling you have, ect, ect.

Apparently, that was a mistake. One we make frequently here and I am here to admit to you as much.

The moderation team will begin issuing warnings for all AUP violations including some YOU might consider light infractions.

If you need a reminder, here you go:

Acceptable Use Policy
(AUP)In the Spin Room you are expected to abide by the following without exception:

1. You are expected to be civil.
2. You are expected to defend your position.
3. You are expected to focus on the debate, not the poster.
4. You are expected to make a good faith effort to interact with the community.
5. You are expected to use the report button if you have concerns with a post or comment.
6. Do not troll.
7. Do not use slurs or call people names.
8. Do not discuss moderation issues in public.
9. Do not bring another user’s personal details into comments.
10. Do not spam the board with a bunch of highly similar topics.

Ignore Function
Go to the top of the board and select "User CP". Under "Miscellaneous" click "Buddy/Ignore List". To ignore posts and private messages from specific users, enter their username in the Ignore List. You can separate multiple names with a comma.

New Thread Expectations
It is preferable that your thread title have a description of what the thread will be about. Recommendations include [News], [Opinion], [Poll] etc.

Private Messages
If you want to post in the Spin Room you must have your Private Messages turned on. This will allow the moderators to PM you to have private discussions. If other posters abuse the PM function to harass you, let the moderator team know.

Reported posts will not be the only ones the Moderation Team will apply penalties to. If we see anything on our own that is a violation we will also moderate it on the spot.

Clarification:

You can say something a poster said is idiotic, stupid, moronic, ect.

You can not call a poster idiot, stupid, moron, ect. That is name calling.

Also, we will NOT be applying the new stringency retroactively, so don't bombard the reporting system with pre-9/13/21 @ 2:00pm posts.

We've let you off your leashes a bit, but it's time to start reining you wild dogs back in. With the Midterm Elections tomorrow we are going to start enforcing heavily against:

Name Calling
Profanity Filter Bypass
Slurs
And all other AUP violations

It's time to become civil once again. If it's REPORTED or if moderators SEE IT in our normal browsing we will issue percentage based warnings leading to bans, not wrist slaps.

Also, want to make a specific point, when a thread turns into nothing but personal insults I will go back and find the first insult and that person is getting a warning. If someone brings up a poster that hasn't even commented in a thread and has a personal insult, that will also be a warning. '

If you can't stick to the topic, and have to just attack a person because of their political view, then you don't need to be here. I've gotten multiple PMs lately about threads being derailed by the same few people, and it is causing the people who can stick to the topic/issue to walk away from the Spin Room.

When I see a thread that is just attacks and nothing added to the discourse I'm going to continue to close them down. I don't care if you give me negative rep points, the last thing I care about is rep points. ACT LIKE ADULTS.
