Remaining Undefeated Teams Before Week 3
Teams with first loss week 2:
Kansas
UTEP
UAB
Ohio State
Colorado
Toledo
Iowa State
Ball State
Southern California
Texas
Eastern Michigan
Middle Tennessee
Utah
Appalachian State
Western Kentucky
Tennessee
Northern Illinois
Syracuse
Georgia Southern
Buffalo
North Carolina State
Florida International
North Texas
Troy
Arkansas State
Missouri

Maximum number of Undefeated Teams at the End of the Regular Season:
12: Nine of the ten conference champs, plus Notre Dame, BYU and one of Liberty/Army
-We lost our last possible undefeated MAC team this week.

Teams with 1st loss:
Week 0 and 1: 41.53% (54 of 130)
Week 2: 34.21% (26 of 76)

Week 2 Thoughts:
-It was a little early to lose our first conference. The MAC now has no undefeated teams. If there is even a remote chance of a NY6 bid, one team there will have to have a huge out of conference win.
-Another big shake up with Ohio State losing. That gives us loses for 2 of last year playoff teams already with a loss.
-My call on the PAC-12 South possibly going back above the north doesn't seem as good this week. ULCA still has their good win there, but USC lost to Stanford and Oregon came up with a big on in Columbus.
-Lot of loses or near losses for big name teams this week. In addition to Ohio State, Florida State, Texas, and USC lost while Miami (FL), Texas A&M, and Notre Dame all managed small wins in games they were favored in.

Week 3 Thoughts:
We have 9 games between undefeated teams this week. They are: New Mexico @ Texas A&M, Nevada @ Kansas State, Purdue @ Notre Dame, Alabama @ Florida, Mississippi State @ Memphis, South Carolina @ Georgia, Auburn @ Penn State. Utah State @ Air Force, and Arizona State @ BYU
Alabama @ Florida: If anyone besides Georgia is going to the SEC Championship from the east, it will probably be Florida. Could be an SEC Championship preview.
Auburn @ Penn State: Penn State might be higher up Big Ten east totem poll with the Ohio State loss.
Arizona State @ BYU: BYU has 2 wins over teams from power 5 conferences so far. They can't get an automatic to a NY6, but keeping winning and they will be high enough in ranking to earn one.
1-loss Nebraska @ Oklahoma: A classic rivalry returns.
Cincinnati @ 1-loss Indiana: The Bearcats are looking at playoff chances. Odds are long there, but a win here will put them in discussions. They still have Notre Dame after this too.

Remaining Undefeated Teams: ACC: 5, American: 4, Big 12: 6, Big Ten: 7, Conference USA: 3, MAC: 0, Mountain West: 6, PAC-12: 3, SEC: 10, Sun Belt: 2, independents: 4, total: 50

I look forward to your posts each week on this, but this is the section I like the most. Knowing how many teams can theoretically finish unbeaten during the regular season.

lol- need to switch places with Maryland and Pittsburgh. You have Maryland still in ACC and Pittsburgh in with the Big Ten teams. Pretty funny...
