Emmm, no, that’s not how that went down.

Worth a trip at least once. Check Scenic Drive while you're there. Try the local food it's great. Be sure to walk around the stadium so you can see down into the valley at El Paso and Ciudad Juarez so you can see one of the most stark contrasts in standard of living you'll ever see in your life.

And think of Marty Robins and Feleena while doing so.
Best of Lick!
I heard SBC has already scheduled campus visits. They intend on emulating the AAC plan with some minor changes. Increased exposure and revenue will be the primary factors in choices. Primary candidates:
Tulsa or Memphis or Marshall
UAB
SMU
UTSA or Rice
USF
FAU
ODU is not under consideration.
Memphis is iffy for the reasons their president listed in regard to the Big 12 invite.
Exchanging teams between conferences may be part of the plan. This will create the regional conferences we have heard about for the last 25 years. I could see USA or Troy going off to CUSA to bring UAB in. SBC will not have three schools in Alabama. There is still a possibility of a new conference being formed if schools resist the move to a new conference. In the end, this may be the best way to form the strongest conference and have one, or two, conferences remain.
The above plan brings in major TV and recruiting markets in Texas and Florida.
Solid programs in SMU and FAU. And UAB if they come in. Plus it pairs up schools and offers regional schools to reduce travel costs. And you lock up the SE states from VA (Maybe WVA) to Ga and Florida.
LOL sure. You make it sound like we are talking about SEC membership. ODU isn't interested in joining Sunbelt as it exists now no offense to anyone. if that's the case we don't need to leave CUSA because they are spread from TX to SC and i don't really see paying exit fees etc for just being in the same situation.
How would it be the same situation? One Texas school vs 3 (one in El Paso). Sunbelt would have App, GSU, GState and Coastal all closer than anybody in CUSA except Marshall and UNCC.

Yeah basically trading Charlotte, Marshall, UAB, WKU and MTSU for App, Coastal, GSU, Gstate and Troy. Not really a much different equation in terms of distance and it will be killer for our Basketball program and i am sure those programs might feel the same way about out FB since we suck right now. So basically paying exit fees and leaving a good core of Basketball schools to be in the same geo-distant division. Which makes no sense.

Anyone hear the JMU, Marshall, ODU to Sun Belt East theory? JMU and Marshall posters have said this alliance is real. Troy would move to West and add USM. East would have:
JMU
Marshall
ODU
App State
Coastal
Georgia State
Georgia Southern

I think those 4 make sense for the Sun Belt, however I don't see the Sun Belt moving to 14. So it would mean that say Georgia State and coastal were gone to get all four. I could see three with Marshall, ODU and Southern Miss with no FCS call up if just one team is poached.
But it is very interesting that say Marshall and Southern Miss could go to AAC or to Sun Belt.

Just send Texas State and ULM to the CUSA. NMSU, UTEP, UNT, Texas State, Sam Houston State and ULM, in the West, WKU, MTSU, FIU, Liberty, UConn*, UMass* in the East (*FB only).
UTSA, Rice, UAB and FAU to the AAC.
SBC - East: Marshall, JMU, ODU, App. State, Charlotte, Coastal, GSU
SBC - West: GS, Troy, USA, USM, Louisiana, Arkansas State, La. Tech

Your ESPN source confirms that Louisville didn't announce it, they told the conference privately, and on request did not submit a letter, which could have been found in a public records request.
