They can reach out to those schools all they want but those schools are gonna wait to hear from the AAC first...then all hell can break loose and the destruction of what has been a fun CUSA conference for years will begin.

There isn’t a single school with a legit shot to go to the American who would choose the Sun Belt first.

I do think it is very possible, however, that certain schools are working together on plans and contingency plans.

I don't understand the JMU love.

Harrisonburg is a small, isolated market and their fanbase, while loyal, is small. The closest major media market is DC, and they get zero coverage here.

In 2015 UAB looked at this choice and decided to accept a 2 year FB hiatus in order to keep their place in C-USA. One problem with being an independent in BB is that once conference play begins after Jan.1st, most teams only play OOC games at home which means UAB would have to play almost 3 months of nearly 100% road games during this time. Bartow Arena might remain empty from Jan 1st to the end of the season. With no FB, it could have meant the end of the whole UAB Athletic Department.

UAB fans may see the new supportive attitude by the "Crimson tinted" System BOT, but others may not see the change as we do. They may still see UAB as under the control of a hostile BOT and may hesitate to invite UAB to their party.
