RE: TRAVEL FOR THIS TEAM
Since I seem happy being in the brunt end of the wrong opinion, I'll say it. I don't understand people who are fans just to win? I hope the team wins. I can be disappointed the team doesn't win. For the kids and for me. As long as they're competing, displaying skills and doing it in a sportsmanship way, I'm a fan. I'd be a bigger fan if the food were better. The Alum Pavillion is nice. The people serving are always very personable. Odd seeing the new handshake guy and not having to look at the ceiling. Not a criticism. Need the tents, got hot and will get cold. Heard a lot of positive comments about the food trucks, though out of my budget. Given the older crowd, a big screen telly showing old game clips would be nice. Or just period reminders; music, vids of off-campus, whatever. My favorite view is probably along the other side of the stadium in front of the Rec where you can see the Toledo Rocket banner with U-Hall in the background. Got a nice new Rocket hat. Love my fan-plan seats, I think I'm the youngest one there. New pep guy is fun, a bit loud and shouldn't be E-D-Oing the T-O-L. Game announcer shouldn't be doing the call at all, fine to do the response, maybe. Half the stadium I think is saying E-D-U instead of E-D-O. I nearly bounces off my tongue too. I don't know why. Probably a cognitive thing, someone should do a study.

I'll go to the games I would go to at 9-0 or 0-9. I understand this is easier to do for those that actually know people involved, which at college not many do. But still, is a person a fan of winning or are they a fan of The University of Toledo? Walking around campus, it's really hard not to be a fan. Getting that pre-game crowd reason to walk around the U-Hall quad (which is looking a bit weedy) would help I think. Clean up those garage areas sooner rather than later even if it's only to plant a sunflower maze. Those make great images. Little things.

Clean up the penalties. Coaches be personable.

I think for most it’s how we lost. Not that we lost. And I’ve felt the same way when at times we’ve won in the past and it’s been awful to watch.

RE: TRAVEL FOR THIS TEAM
The drops and penalties were frustrating but ultimately we lost because their D line was far superior to our OL. Other than clock management in Q4, their offensive calls lowered the burden on their OL and made our team learn as it went. Ours had no alternative to the possibilty our line couldn't hold. Not even Finn was rolling out.

I think coaches have missed something in scouting unless CSU pulled out a whole new play book in the last week.

Need to expect more from players that have been around the program 3-4+years.

If that's your thing, more power to you. If you don't care that UT wins or loses, I'm glad for your blood pressure.

However, some of us understand that they keep score for a reason, and we can't fathom how such a highly-paid coach that supposedly recruits the best classes in the MAC year after year -- I think UT has been ranked No. 1 for 5 straight seasons -- continues to put out a mediocre product. The penalties, the lack of discipline, the lack of preparedness, all of it is hard to stomach. There's nothing more frustrating than getting out-coached game after game, season after season when you know you've got the talent to be special.

Candle has done nothing with a team that wasn't put together by Campbell, and he's clearly in over his head. The problem is he probably has a buyout that UT can't afford, so we're stuck with him for the foreseeable future.

UT is 18-16 in its last 34 games. Let that sink in.

Agreed. Haven’t seen much of any player development on the offensive side of the ball.

None of which was case for CSU game, hence the frustration by many devoted fans.

I didn't see anyone laying down. I thought the effort was there. Why the ball was bouncing off WRs hands, IDK. Bradley does throw a hot ball, hopefully coaches can resolve that issue. The focus mistakes by the OL seems a coaching issue. On a play near the end of Q2 (I think) CSU was going for it on 4th and our DL was standing around yakking. That would go on the defensive leader. I think there was one unsportsmanlike. That would be an improvement, lol.

CSU's DL dominated our OL. As they've not won any other games, that sure is a concern. How ours held up reasonably well against ND might say something about ND.

even Candle acknowledged focus, intensity and effort was lacking -was pretty clear to see (along with other issues you pointed out)

intensity is hard to see from my seats. Maybe he was talking about the coaching staff? There definitely seemed to be a few slips of focus.
