But yea, don't really like Fertitta apart from that.

This board is supposed to be commercial free for me.

Don't understand the purpose of that post.

I do. Their football program has excelled. They are the largest university in Florida. They’re in Orlando (Disney-ESPN, hello!). Big metro area. They’ve poured money into their programs. They built an OCS. Their US News ranking is 160, about 100 spots above us.

Their only negative for the Big 12 would be geography. But their positives far outweigh the negatives. Watch out for USF, they’ve finally woke up. Building an OCS. Ranked 109 nationally (US News).

As a matter of fact, they are an ideal target for the ACC. Their stock has risen faster than Bezo’s rocket.

I guess my mental picture of UCF is stuck in 1995.

Haha…. Had the same trade. Worked out really well. Own DKNG too, it’s really doing great lately.

We rolling! 04-cheers

Miami and FSU disagree.

When it comes down to it, Florida legislature will put the hammer on them. Just like what happened in Texas with Houston.

If that were true UCF would have been in the Big East with USF. Instead USF blocked then and Florida legislature never lifted a hand to stop them.

But if you want to be a praised for sharing "insider" info while also shutting down other conversation...There is a downside there.

I wasn't even talking about me. I was talking about the others who got attacked in a convo I wasn't in.

And I don't give a crap about being praised. I'm 74, have a nice life, am a huge life-long Tiger fan. Attended my first games in 1952.

I have lots of friends, some who are connected. Sometimes I try to share things I can, to be nice. No other reason. I don't lie. I don't make things up. I don't exaggerate. I don't pass along things from people who aren't talking directly to those involved.

And those who criticize almost always don't know what they are talking about. They just throw stones for the fun of it.

And this is what happens in every thread like this. Instead of debating what's in the news, a few people go on the attack and derail the damn thread.

This thread is about Houston getting in at the last minute by putting political pressure on the Big 12. Yet nobody has spent 5 seconds discussing it. A shame, really.

You’re right Triple A. I and a lot of other folks appreciate all the information and discussion you have provided over the years. I hope you don’t let a few jerks cause you to quit contributing.

KISS KISS LOL SMH--....Yea---thank you for all the WRONG information over the years

TripleA shared the information he had at the time- he thought it was correct — the Big12 took no schools—

He was thinking that we would get in in 2016, jsw3ent apparently thought we would not get in— bath hoped they would be right

You are out of your mind

Threads like this are why I quit posting years ago & only occasionally even browse any more.

The petty arguments are too much like junior high.

It's just not worth the waste of time to participate.

Uhhh? UCF did get into the Big East. They were invited before us. But, just like us, they never played in the Big East.

They began playing FBS football in 1996. And was invited to the Big East in 2011. They also built an OCS in 2007. And they selected ahead of us in the Big 12. Go figure.

He's talking about 2003, USF was invited and UCF wasn't and the Florida legislature never got involved.

Jeez, they’d been FBS for 7 years. Was Indy, then played in the MAC starting 2002. They were no way ready for the Big East then.

That just shows you how far they’ve come. Absolutely rocketed past USF and us.

Not going to be snarky with said poster, but he did speak with so much certainty that I’m sure a lot of people got their hopes up. It’s been over and done for a while now, but people typically have to face the music when they swing and miss.

Nobody swung and missed. You guys act like people who passed on info made it up, or it was wrong from the beginning.

A handful of people have come on here and said, in 2016, before they had the dog and pony show, the Big 12 told Rudd and Bowen we were in. That's a fact.

Just because something doesn't happen doesn't mean the info was incorrect at the time. Ever followed recruiting?

And anybody who thinks anything is a done deal before it's announced, doesn't know anything about realignment, or recruiting.

But the simple thing to do is not to share info any more.

What's funny is, with the OP, I wasn't trying to share anything now, was just posting a tweet saying how Houston was out, and got in at the last moment. Then the same peeps started attacking me about things that happened years ago.

That says a lot more about them than me.

No one changes his mind based on forum posts. A friend of mine told me that a long time ago. You. 04-cheers I've remembered that bit of wisdom for many years because it rang so bleeping true.
