RE: AAC Timetable
A list no President would take seriously. That was helpful...thanks.

Just my two cents.
The only problem with that list is that none of these schools have played in a NCAA tournament in the past five years.
Buffalo FB has averaged 9.5 wins/yr over the past 3 seasons, finished in the AP FB top 25 in 2020, and played in four of the last six NCAA tournaments.
It would be a good idea to make Buffalo one of the four to maintain FB/BB quality.
Chances are that either App St., Marshall, or Louisiana would decline an invitation, but that Buffalo would accept.
Is Buffalo even interested? They’ve got a good thing going in the MAC, plus they lost two great basketball coaches in Hurley and Oates so let’s see how they maintain that program. I’d take UMass with coaching changes and a stadium upgrade over UB.
Those other schools wouldn’t turn down an invitation, but I see Marshall as the only realistic option despite Louisiana having the facilities.
I guess if the MWC has a lock in advertising at the G5 level out west it should apply to the MAC in the Midwest as well.
They could try to replicate what Boise St has done in the MAC.

Okay, DavidSt. Pull up a chair.
Inquiring minds want to know how you grade Fordham, Villanova, Richmond, William & Mary, Furman, The Citadel, and of course Jacksonville if they restart football.
Also, Rice didn’t get a grade, so are they in? They actually have the same record as one of your top picks, Dayton. And they’ve only lost to P5 and future P5 schools in Texas and Houston.
Dayton lost by 52 points to Southern Illinois. Shouldn’t the Salukis get an A+ based on that alone?

They could, that’s true. I haven’t heard anything about UB pushing for an invite whereas UMass has made it their clear intention they will do what it takes to join the AAC. I think if the AD wants to keep his job he’s going to have to get them into the AAC, and probably hire some proven coaches. Mark Whipple was slowly turning that program around and he got fired. Now he has Pitt’s offense absolutely humming as they look to win their first ACC title.

I think we are still looking at 4. We've lost so many teams at this point that we will have to get associate members just to field baseball or soccer if we don't add enough.
After they leave we will have:
Baseball, Soccer, Track n Field (indoor) - 5 members
Golf, Track n Field (outdoor)- 6
Football, Tennis, Cross Country - 7
Basketball - 8
I didn't check women's sports... we may have issues there too. I "think" the minimum in most sports is 6 teams.
UAB does have baseball and soccer but no Mens track n field... they do have Golf and Tennis.
Marshall has Football, basketball, Soccer and Baseball... Golf and Cross country, but again, no Track n Field.
Rice has Football, Basketball and Baseball (no mens soccer) BUT they do have Cross Country, Track n Field (indoor and out), Tennis and Golf.
- For the record UTSA has the same sports as Rice. As far as needs, they are interchangeable.
Buffalo - They got bball, fball, cross country, track n field (indoor and out)and tennis. They are missing Soccer, Baseball, Gold and Tennis.
These are the four I would add. Together, they fit all our needs and are a mix of established programs in different sports, a few programs that are building and overall, the academics rating would go up, even with Marshall.
******************************************************************
FAU has the Big 4 (Bball, Baseball, Fball and Soccer) Cross Country, Golf and Tennis but no Track n Field (in or out) and they have swimming, which we dont sponsor.
App St - Doesn't have soccer, tennis or indoor track n field.
ODU - Doesnt have Tennis, Indoor or outdoor track n field, Cross Country and their Sailing and Swimming would have to find a new conference.
I think to a degree we have to look at things from a Needs standpoint also. I listed a few, but honestly this has to be a nightmare for whomever had to come up with the perfect mix to keep this conference going.
Just to correct ODU most certainly does have tennis and sailing isn’t an NCAA sponsored sport and we’re affiliated with the Mid Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association

App does have tennis (in process of building new indoor & outdoor courts) & indoor T&F (use the Holmes Center). We dropped men's soccer last year but kept women's.

Also just to be clear-- No additional FULL-TIME members would need to be added for women's sports?
To be clear, the exception of one sport OOC is one for men and one for women, so actually Temple could place Lacrosse or Rowing in another conference and have their eight qualifying women's sports.
The sports sponsored by the school have to be qualified for automatic qualification, but there is no requirement that all of the schools that meet that standard have to be full member. Instead, it's that the FBS full members have to have six qualifying men's sport and eight qualifying women's sport, at most one of each in another conference.
So add UAB, who plays softball, the only qualifying issue would be Temple only have seven qualifying women's sport, and whether they find an affiliate or join / merge with another conference in either women's rowing and/or women's lacrosse, that would be Temple's eighth women's sport.
