The CAA will have some huge opportunities next week against the Big 10, PAC 12 ACC, and Sun Belt.

6th year super seniors are closing the gap between programs and this has been an Outstanding season after only 2 weeks.

8 fcs over fbs wins so far, and a whole lot of close calls.

Weber struggled early with in-state foe Dixie State last night scoring right before the half to take a 14-3 lead.

They pulled away in the 2nd Half behind backup QBs junior Randall Johnson a tall, lanky transfer from Middle Tennessee and sophomore Kylan Weisser. They have a good running attack with redshirt freshman RB Dontae McMillan rushing for 153 yards on 16 carries. Their punter even threw a 25 yard pass that eventually led to a TD. in the 1st drive of the 2nd half which was the drive when they lost their starting QB Bronson Barron. Not sure how bad of an injury their starting QB Barron sustained.

If I remember correctly they've got a really good WR, Rashidheed, who returns kickoffs that we need to worry about. He returned a kickoff against Utah almost 100 yards for a TD. I'm a little concerned about him returning a Cameron Wise kickoff now that we don't have Conner Madden kicking them out/thru the end zone due to him tearing his ACL.

They have players, and they will be very excited and motivated, but Dixie State is a very bad team that is a DII team transitioning to FCS. Dixie State's left tackle was 250 roster lbs, so probably 240. 76 of 119 DS roster players are listed as freshmen, 9 as seniors. A "top ten" team against an inexperienced transitioning D2 team should not have been close,and it was until more than halfway through the 3rd quarter. We'll see, of course, but I saw nothing that JMU should not be able to handle.

Just checked out their schedule and in the Fall of 2020 the lost to Florida State and beat FLorida Intl of CUSA. This Fall they lost to UAB of the CUSA and beat Florida State.

2 FBS games in each season. Are they stupid or do they have danglers that are appropriate for competitive D-1 football?

ND also struggled to beat toledo last week so that close game FSU played with them isnt looking that impressive now. Still a huge win for JSU but i dont think we can read too much into them week 2. Remember we beat VT and went on to have a mediocre year

Just saw this online regarding Jacksonville St's win over Florida St:

...oh, and that one win prior, was also Jacksonville State (over Ole Miss in 2010).
