CUSA/SBC Alliance?
Does anyone remember when CUSA and the MWC were going to have that alliance. This was circa 2013 when the Big East first raided some CUSA teams and the Big East was still a legit power conference?
If CUSA loses 4 teams, why not try to do the same thing with the SBC? Both conferences would be at 10 teams. We could both play round robin schedules and then have our champs play each other. In theory, this would increase the winners chances of going to the Access Bowl.
1's play 1's
2s play 2's
etc etc
10's play 10's
This would increase the overall SOS as well I would think.
We could do the same thing in basketball. At the end of the year before conference tournament, have our top 2-4 teams play their top 2-4 teams. Our bottom teams play their bottom teams, etc . This would increase and protect the NET rankings for each of the conference's top teams.
I don't know. Just spit balling here, but its time to try and get creative....and a brand new eastern based G5 isn't going to happen.

This is what I have been forecasting now for a while, and we've been blasted for this conversation point on the Sun Belt board.

IF Liberty is willing to pay out everyone's exit fee's, something I can absolutely see them willing to do...
Here's an idea tossed around. An example of something I'm sure most Marshall fans would absolutely get behind.
If in the event AAC takes UAB and Rice....we go with this to form a new alliance. An idea...
Liberty
JMU
ODU
Charlotte
Marshall
WKU
MTSU
FAU
Southern Miss
La Tech
Louisiana
App State
Coastal Carolina
Georgia State
Georgia Southern
FIU/stAte/Troy for that last spot
Or you can tighten that list to 12.
Now that's a league, performers and markets. Would probably net a pretty sizeable media deal.

But your idea is good too. Just a gentleman's agreement on scheduling.

If we are left with 10 schools, I would like to see us invite Liberty and JMU, that's if no agreement or rescheduling can be done.

Same. It would be a net positive for CUSA if that were to happen.

And sorry you got blasted on the Sun Belt board because people think all Marshall fans suck because of me.
And I'm not used to being the pot stirrer, so it's been a little weird for me the last couple days.
I like the belt teams, just don't know what we would do with our non football programs.
If a miracle happened and we were able to park our soccer in the ACC, that would be huge. We can probably also get WVU to create those inroads, because I think eventually WVU will ultimately land in the ACC regardless.

I like this idea. A reorganization of schools into two new conferences doesn't mean we shouldn't associate with one another. The two entities need to have strong ties in championship games and bowl games. Use one another.

Why do us Texas schools always get left out of these ideas? Where would we go? Independent??

Just eastern bias...nothing personal...at least not from me anyway.
