Unless I missed it, there is not one thing mentioned about the MAC let alone The University of Toledo.

RE: Conference Realignment
So do we try for CUSA, or does the MAC expand and grab a couple teams from CUSA? Personally I would rather stand pat and get the MAC to expand. Leaving the MAC would add cost to our sports programs. Were expansion would not add too much more than we are seeing now

Would think WKU is the only one out there that would make sense geographically/institutionally, and even that is a reach. I thought they may be interested in Temple/UConn or something prior to the AAC creating this weird messed up conference they have now.

Agreed. The MAC's historical memberships of each institution is unlike any other G5 league, maybe the MWC can compare. But it would be nice to add a few more teams as expansion has a lot of potential to build upon the league's brand. Plus wouldn't mind a few new road trips every year as a fan.

Harrisonburg, Va. ( JMU ) would be a nice fall trip through the Shenandoah area ...

Why in the world would you want to leave the MAC when the CUSA is falling apart? :)

CUSA has a bad TV contract and could only be worse after all this. The only way I could see wanting to join CUSA is that 6 teams leave and seeing an opening for a more winnable conference now since they'll only be able to grab (yet more) FCS teams. However, even so, AAC didn't grab all the Best ones from CUSA, although UAB has been good recently & UTSA is having an undefeated year so far.

All in all -- there'd be no incentive to leave the MAC to CUSA -- even BEFORE this debacle took place for them. You'd have to go more than 10 years ago before it'd begin to be something to desire, and desire more and more as you wind the clock back.

That’s why it makes mor sense to expand. Would it be too much to add four teams? Then the SBC could take the other four teams. No more cusa

RE: Conference Realignment
Sounds like the Sun Belt and CUSA are going to be in a bidding war for...James Madison?

I personally don't know why anyone would join up with CUSA now. To me, Sun Belt goes on a full court press to get Marshall, JMU, Southern Miss, and ODU to create a Tidewater and Gulf Coast divisional alignment, and the CUSA is cooked.

MTSU, WKU, FIU, LTU, and UTEP would be all that's left...if that were the case, my guess is they couldn't get enough FCS schools to foot the bill to move up, meaning UTEP maybe gets a bone from MWC to get into TX and MAYBE the MAC sees if WKU and MTSU would do anything for them financially (doubtful).

RE: Conference Realignment
What would you all think if the MAC added MTSU and WKU? To me it doesn't make sense institutionally, geographically, and likely financially...but I figured I'd ask since it seems to be making the rounds now that the CUSA may go supernova in short order.

Adding 4 teams teams that have won national championships or been in the final 4 is in basketball is not all bad.

RE: Conference Realignment
There is still another possibility. It’s been mentioned before that several teams from several conferences could start a completely new conference. That however would be a long shot from happening. But it could be the best opportunity for many teams.

RE: Conference Realignment
Color me jaded but what about the fairly recent history of the MAC suggests the conference will do ANYTHING in regards to expansion?

This conference isn't going to do squat other than ride it out as about the 9th most "important" conference in FBS or maybe drop down to FCS level at some point.

I mean, I'm along for the ride as a Toledo fan... it just is what it is.
