RE: Big12 Football Divisions
I don't put much stock in it right now, but here's a snapshot of the current Sagarins fwiw:
East - West
13 UC - 24 TCU
15 Iowa St. - 29 OK St.
21 K ST. - 31 TTech
25 UCF - 58 Baylor
41 WVU - 79 BYU
113 Kansas - 91 Houston
Adding Memphis (E) and Boise (W) would help even it out a bit but it's still East > West at every spot except cellar-dweller Kansas.
61 Memphis - 36 Boise
However I think Iowa St. and KSU might be overrated while BYU and Houston seem underrated in particular. And of course things might look very different in a couple of years.

This is the good news for the B12. We don't care what they do with us.
We're all just so happy that we could sh** that we won't have to play Temple, ECU, Tulane and Tulsa anymore.

So true. And by 2023, coaches may change and the trajectory of programs can rise and fall. So I guess divisions should be based more on geographic balance. If there were a single dominant football team, that would have to weigh in the decision. At this point that doesn't appear to be the case.
I often think of Ohio State's division as basically unwinnable by any other B10 school, Heck, even their opponent in the CCG is usually overmatched. But once divisions are set I don't think they should be changed around to offset the ebb and flow of winning and losing teams.

That right there is the single best thing to come out of this. UC gets a conference upgrade, more revenue, more exciting opponents, likely a boost in future tickets sales, P5 status, etc etc ... all without sacrificing the ability to make a New Years 6 bowl.
I may be in the minority here but I'm happy not to be in a conference with likes of Oklahoma, Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State. I want a realistic shot at the playoffs and this conference gives us that.

RE: Big12 Football Divisions
I hope we don't have divisions. I could see a pod format for establishing annual games.
ISU, Kansas, and KSU have really lengthy established history. Farmageddon (ISU/KSU) is one of the 5 longest running rivalries in college sports (uninterrupted since 1917). The Sunflower Showdown has been played a million times, as has ISU/KU (which is the top basketball rivalry in the league when we're good). OK State joined up with us in the 50's, so there isn't as much history, but I think we'll want to play them pretty regularly too.
The SWC schools have a ton of history with each other too, especially Baylor and TCU.
North: ISU, KSU, KU
East: Cincy, WVU, UCF
South: Houston, Baylor, TCU
West, TTU, OK State, BYU
You would play everyone in your pod, and then two whole other pods ever year. 8 conference games. Top 2 teams play in the CCG, OR if you wanted to make 9 conference games - and this would get chaotic, the final week of the season pits the pods against each other on the basis of standings and whatever pod wasn't "scheduled" that year. The last round becomes the play in for the CCG, with the winners of the 2 "1 vs 1" games going to the CCG.

RE: Big12 Football Divisions
I find it hard to believe that Kansas, KSU, ISU, and OSU will want to be in different divisions.
They have been playing each other for ever. Oklahoma State's top-5 schools by # of games played are (in order) Oklahoma, Kansas, Kansas State, Tulsa(!), and Iowa State.

RE: Big12 Football Divisions
Once OU and Texas leave they will shake things up divisionally again.
Just a hunch that they throw the AAC 3 in with WVU and one of the Kansas teams who will maintain their in state rivalry as a permanent intra-division game. Memphis could slide in to the East on the next round and perhaps Boise in the West.

RE: Big12 Football Divisions
If they insist on divisions, I think the Big 8 schools will want to stay in the same one, however it gets sliced up. Same with SWC. The existing rivalries in the new Big 12 are in those footprints.

Don't love losing a trip to Texas every year with how we've expanded our recruitment there, but keeping Florida in there is good for us.

With 4 Texas schools we'll get a Texas trip every year even if they are all in the other division.

Those East/West divisions are exactly what I've been hoping for. Like Mark said, with 4 Texas teams, we would play in Texas every year. The Big 12 East would literally be the only schools in all of college football that are guaranteed games in Ohio, Florida, and Texas every single year.

The B1G, ACC and SEC have become boring. We already know, with ~99% accuracy, who will win each conference. The Big12 will be the most exciting conference.

You're right...for some reason I was thinking only two cross-division games in that alignment not 3-4.
