I'll also say I think we see another pretty big game for CoJo. He really impressed me last week, not so much with his stats considering it was Morehead but with specific throws he made. Throw Percy in the mix and Maine is going to have several RBs to worry about who are good enough to be a nightmare even if they only had to worry about one of them. Biggest worry obviously is the line losing Fornadel but I think they'll do fine.

looking at game notes I didn't realize JMU has beaten Maine 8 of the last 9 games going all the way back to 2004 since they don't play every year. The one slip up was on a last minute 2 pt conversion in 2011 when JMU had to play Freshman Jace Edwards at QB due to Thorpe's half season drug suspension.

The Canadians amassed a whopping 48 yards rushing against the chickens, their leading rusher getting 37 of those yards on 10 totes. So, I don't know how they get above single digits rushing on Saturday, which means they will be one-dimensional. Fagnone, the Canadians' quarterback, threw for 2 TDs versus the chickens but also threw 2 picks. Look for us to blitz early and often. Possible double-digit sacks.

The Canadians were shut out for three quarters by UD. We are going to smoke them like a cheap cigar!

Ugh I was there for that and I was sick to my stomach because I knew they were going to make it. That loss definitely stung.

We have definitely had Maine's number these last few years. I remember we used to struggle a lot with Maine during the Cosgrove years.. especially when we had to go to Maine.

It looks like Maine has 20 transfers and 11 are FBS transfers. They shouldn’t lack for talented bodies this week. I’m expecting JMU’s run defense to force Maine into a passing offense where sacks and picks will turn the tide in JMU’s favor. If Mike Greene will be occupying 2 blockers every single play it is time to see which other player benefits and gets to the QB.

Somebody is getting ready to have a bigger season than they’ve ever had in their career. I don’t know that any of them are studs by themself, but if left in one on one situations all game they will get plenty of opportunities. Would love to see Ukwu blossom but I don’t know if his knees are good enough to be explosive on the edge.

Listening to this week's press conference Cig seems like a confident coach in this season. I share his optimism. I think if we don't beat our self there is not a game we should lose - at least individually. While we should be favored in all the games we play this year, the odds are against us being undefeated.

I'm sure our game planning for Morehead was very minimal. It will be interesting to see how we play this week in our first conference game against an average conference opponent.

CC has never came across as a guy to lie about how good/bad the team is. If they are doing things wrong, he will call them out on it.
For a guy like CC to be around as long as he has and be this openly optimistic about the team is definitely a good sign. It doesn't mean that we are guaranteed anything, but I think it does speak to his confidence in this team taking care of their own business.
He really needs to prove he can bring a title to Harrisonburg. While he has been close, he is fully aware of the expectations and has never been one to shy away from that.
If this team stays healthy (knock on every piece of wood you own or see) then I don't see how we don't at least make it to Frisco. Anything less should be considered a disappointment.
And I think Cignetti may go even as far to believe it's Championship or bust.

Do we have to worry about this guy at all? I've never seen him play since JMU hasn't played Maine in 4 years, but he is a 1st team All CAA WR. Looks like he has a NFL body and caught 6 TD's in only 4 Spring games.

Size like the WR from VMI who had a field day against us in the playoffs. No matter what we did defensively to key on him didn’t slow him down. Hoping for better tomorrow, and with our d-line’s quality and depth I expect their QB to be running for his life out there.

They looked decent vs UD. Down 17-0, Maine score 24 points in the last 8 1/2 minutes if the 1st half. Then UD outscored them again 17-0 for a 34-24 final. UD had beat them 38-0 in the Winter/Spring @ UD. Down 27-24 in the 3rd qtr, a Maine WR being tackled near the goal line fumbled the ball out of the back of the endzone for a touchback. Otherwise, its maybe a 3 point game.

Fagano is a serviceable QB. Vs UD 24-41, 305 yds, 2 TDs/2 INT.

They do have a stud all CAA WR (4 receptions for 49 yds vs UD)
