I was a bit surprised Prater didn't get into the Miami game earlier than he did

Our coaching staff seems allergic to putting in the 2nd team offense. We saw this issue a lot last year with Bryant. Maybe the INT and muffed punt screwed up those plans, but I felt the 2nd team offense should have been in the entire 4th quarter.

I see this more on the defense side where the starters are kept in a lot longer than needed. But maybe that's a product of using 1A's & 1B's making sure they all get an adequate number of snaps per game.

I am always surprised by this.
However, Maybe they’re worrying about him getting hurt (he looks so skinny), and if Ridder Gets hurt they’re down to their third string quarterback. Although They did allow him to run several times and they know that that increases risk of injury.

I tend to agree with you but comparing to basketball, I guess with fewer games, football margin of victory definitely matters. Especially this year With us trying to make the playoffs.

The help is that it allows us to do a one off road game against Notre Dame and still keep at least 6 home games a season.

Much the same as Austin Peay last year UC 49-10

Failing to get the backup meaningful reps early on may have bit us in the rear 2 seasons ago.

Prater needs game reps - real reps, not just handing off- because he’s likely going to need to play at some point this season.

Wouldn't surprise me if we start slower this week. Still won't show much of the playbook, so the game might be closer.
