That''s the MOB I know and love. They asked me to speak at their banquet my senior year.... I couldn't have been more proud. I recall really making a fool of myself during the speech... losing half my thoughts.... a ten minute speech probably went by in just two.... but I remember my opening line, at least generally.

A friend had told me that the MOB was looking for me. When I realized they meant the Marching Owl Band, I REALLY started to worry.

Thanks for posting the article. The 2000 Michigan game was the highlight of my MOB career in terms of full games (what an atmosphere!), and the Louie line at Michigan State in 2002 was my favorite single moment. Playing Ultimate Cabbage in the hotel parking lot during the Michigan trip stands out too.

I'm guessing that the MOB doesn't have anywhere near the funding to send 100-120 MOBsters on a plane trip on a biennial basis anymore, even if there were 100-120 to send.

Sending the MOB on meaningful road trips would be a great way to recruit more members. Hopefully we can get the MOB to Dallas, New Orleans, San Antonio, and Austin with regularity when we join the American. They should be at every road game in our division. They should be at every game in Austin, even if they don't perform at halftime.

He’s only a couple of years younger than Kingsbury, I guess he thought it was past time to move up! Pay must be better too even at LaTech. Couple of years success there and he lands in the P5. Modern college football.

FIU has hired a new AD. Scott Carr is moving over from UCF where he's been deputy AD and had a stint as interim AD. I've seen some Florida-based fans on other boards say that FIU today is a lot like UCF 20 years ago (athletically and as a university), so it makes sense that they'd reach for someone from Orlando to clean up their current mess.

Surprising, but Cumbie was making $900k at Tx Tech and I believe Skip Holtz was in the $700 or $800k range. Won’t be surprised if La Tech decided to increase pay for the head coach to get Cumbie

Of the 13 head coaches (with at least 4 years at the school) let go so far, only 1 of them (Doug Martin - New Mexico State) had a worse record than that of Bloomgren's at Rice.
