In the other thread it was noted that the last few non-COVID years had 2-loss teams at #5. ESPN was even predicting a 2-loss non-Champ Alabama as 70% likely to make the playoff. I think that assumed the second loss was to Georgia.

I think the only teams that were eliminated this weekend were Texas and BYU.

I'd like to see anyone justify a 2-loss non-Champ Alabama over a 1-loss Ohio State champion or a 1-loss Oregon champion.

For the "Big Playoff" page, I couldn't decide whether to pair Iowa vs. OSU or UM for the Big Ten Title. I went with UM simply because they are 6-0. It's somewhat fun to see San Diego State and (once) UTSA get that #12 playoff spot.

Can Coastal get a bid along with UC? Another ND loss should vault them ahead of the Irish. Certainly more teams will beat up on one another. But that stupid ACC contract bid. There are only four available access bowl slots.

They can if they get ranked higher enough....top 8 or so

I think Coastal needs lots of P5 teams finishing with 3 losses. And some of them will likely vault the Chanticleers. Honestly I project an undefeated Coastal at #16 well outside the Top 10 needed and behind certain Texas G5 teams who could take that G5 spot.

But when voting if you think Coastal deserves that Peach Bowl spot, go ahead and put them in.

Yes, that is UTSA getting into the 6+6. UTSA is currently receiving more votes than Pittsburgh in the AP, and both Coastal and SDSU lost in their CCGs.

Also of note is that Alabama's reward for beating Georgia in the SECCG is playing them twice in a row. Ya, 6+6 may need some tweaks to avoid that. The WCG format at least puts them on opposite sides of the bracket.
