Speaking of optimists, I have always been a glass-half-full kind of guy. However, this is not a half full glass. This is a German fest house beer stein filled to the brim with a golden lager, and I am really enjoying it. Cheers, all! 04-cheers

The only other happy ending would have been if ODU didn't start football or kept it in FCS, and took George Mason's or Davidson's spot in the A-10. Although I swear I remember it being reported that the A-10 originally wasn't interested in ODU because they were concerned that they'd move football up to FBS and find another conference, so it may be that they had to never start football. I like the A-10 enough, but I think ODU did the right thing by starting football.

Richmond in 2001 was the last A10 invitation to a school that sponsors scholarship football. The A10 changed its philosophy about the characteristics they wanted in new members after Richmond was invited That change was roughly concurrent with the CUSA schools joining and the CAA taking over A10 football. By the time VCU and the others were added ODU was out of consideration because of sponsoring scholarship football.

I think ODU did the right thing by sponsoring football as well.

Funny!

Very clever baby! However, I couldn’t help but notice the absence of a school I’m particularly fond of.

For those of us who are "football people", most of us are extremely pleased with this outcome.

RE: What does the AAC Do??
Thrilled with the move. It was frustrating being able to easily travel to OOC games but not Conference games. I haven't been to GSU or GaSo but have been to games H-Burg, Boone and Myrtle. Should be a great time and I would imagine our recruiting profile just went up a notch.

While good mojo is finally here, can anyone pull off the miracle of getting us out of the CUSA '22 season? Yeech...Talk about indifference...

Lastly, it would be amazing if the AAC imploded and ECU came calling.

ECU is definitely the piece the fits perfectly in that one gaping hole on the SB map. I think it could happen one day, but probably a few years or more down the road. At least we have them on the OOC schedule.

ODU prominent in this CBS Sports report that hedges a bit on JMU and Marshall.

ECU will not budge if they are not invited to a P-5 conference. I think that may not happen, and if they keep getting by-passed they may want to leave for more regional conference. Wouldn't it stir the pot in Greenville if the Sunbelt becomes the P-6, and they are hauling their bar-b-que to North Texas.
