1. Coastal - looked to be executing their offense in a way that will give anyone trouble. Once they get into conference play, will they have depth to compete with Louisiana and App in a hopefully non-COVID impacted season where everyone has equal practice times as Coastal?

2. App - beat what many believed to be an improved ECU team. They may still be improved so it's impossible to tell if this win was against a weak team or if App is that strong. Still have Miami and Marshall in OOC play so we should know how good App is over the next three weeks.

3. South Alabama - they have never been far off. The previous staff recruited well and I expect their all-star line up of coaches may get that talent rolling.

4. Louisiana - Texas will be good under Sarkisian. I thought Louisiana looked good, the defense just couldn't make stops when they needed to which isn't surprised given the offensive coach of their opponent.

8. Georgia Southern - will this be Lundsfords last season in Statesboro? I think it should be. He righted the ship after the Tyson Summers debacle, now it's time to give the program to someone who can get them competitive in the Sun Belt

2. App - Looked solid in that win against a bottom dwelling AAC team
3. Troy - Dominated Southern as they should
4. USA - Surprise run away win vs a CUSA flagship
5. ULL - Looked about how you would expect a 8-4 Sun Belt team to look against a top 25 team.
6. stAte - Solid W vs a good FCS
7. Texas St - Solid performance vs Baylor
8. GS - It's a W but we still don't know what we have on O and the D looks to have taken a step back.
9. ULM - Kentucky is better than a lot of people give them credit for.
10. GSU - Total beat down by Army who may be good this year but GSU looked totally inept.

I’d move S. Alabama up over Troy because its a more valuable win…nothing against Troy but Southern…meh.

Top 3:
Coastal until they fall.
ULL because that was a good P5 they played.
App until they give me a reason to doubt.

After that it's wait and see. I will say, from a homer standpoint, that if stAte plays like it did in the last quarter of the game against UCA, they will be a factor in the west. Time will tell.
