Attention B12 Fans
I don't think so. Those networks have their place.

My wife has a student that goes to Missouri and the SEC network is a good place to see those secondary matchups. Also my in laws are from Michigan and occasionally want to see what Michigan and Michigan St. are doing. Those conference networks allow me to watch those games and have a dedicated channel as opposed to switching apps or looking in some random area hoping the ESPN plus games are being shown.

I think this could help the Big 12 as well.

RE: Attention B12 Fans
I think it depends on how wide of distribution we could get on a conference network. For example, the PAC network has poor distribution and I've never had it as part of one of my TV packages. Even my family who live in Tucson didn't have PAC as part of their package for over a year after the PAC network launched.

ESPN+ is nice because you don't have those TV provider and content provider negotiation issues that result in channels not being available. For example, I have Hulu+ and can't even get Bally Sports North.

ESPN+ directly integrates with my Hulu app on my Samsung smart TV so switching between say a Big 12 game on FS1 and one on ESPN + is on different than switching between games on ESPN and ESPN2.

I was trying to load up ESPN+ to my LGTV this weekend after that failed...ended up on my Hulu App and lone behold...there was ESPN+. (After I couldn't load ESPN+, I went to my Disney+ app on my TV...as I thought it would be there since I had the bundle...but I guess its on hulu).

I bet I'm not the only one who didn't know that.

I prefer using a separate streaming device vs. the smart TV's native system. Regardless of the brand, it seems like none of the smart TV platforms have as many apps as Roku/Chromecast/Fire TV/Apple TV, and they end up being very outdated within just a few years.
