Coastal Carolina and Arky state

Best 16 from the MW and AAC. Out of 20, cut 4 -

Houston, Cincy, UCF, & BYU appears to be a done deal - it was all over ESPN all night so:

Why not add Liberty and Appalachian State as all-sports schools to get back to 10 in FB and 10 in BB? - then see what happens.

I don't think UAB, USM, ASU is the way to go but that's just my opinion..... but adding 4 just to get to a number does not seem like a good idea.

I do know this - the AAC can't sit around and wait - it needs to act and act swiftly to stop the bleeding and right the ship.

At least Brittany isn't the commissioner this time around......

We have no idea what is going on behind the scenes. The only thing we know for sure is....we have some very good leadership at our University. They have made some great decisions (except for not talking to me about adding new radio affiliates to the game broadcasts) but.....overall...they have been better than we have had in a long time. I don't think we have MINOR LEAGUE PROVINCIAL THINKING any more at Memphis They get the BIG PICTURE. I think we will come out OK just as IKE does.

IKE says the BIG and ACC are interested in us. I can't wait for those invites. Funny tho, how the XII passes us over but the BIG and ACC will not. Such tomfoolery on here.

When will it be determined if WV, Kansas and maybe Iowa State will move out?

Meanwhile, our schedule will likely be Southern Miss instead of Houston
Appalachian State instead of UCF
UAB instead of Cincy

Long term investment and an emotional level that surpasses, by far, the other three schools likely leaving, So building a ****** stadium on a treeless campus in a field with a lot of students who don’t care about the region matters more?

Good or bad, Memphis will still get support. Of course, it will be down when losing, I was there for the 4,000 fan rainy night game a decade ago, but we are never an afterthought. Houston basketball will get 3,000 fans at best when they wane. UCF less than that. Cincy will be ok ther but will have nothing at that ****** on campus stadium that suddenly means more than a nicer stadium 5 minutes from our campus?

Just weird and short sighted, although so much drama when the Big 12 will lose more signature programs soon. This was discussed but because of that these AAC schools should have stayed pat. Now it is over

Im thinking UAB and Georgia State or MTSU. I also like Southern Miss but not a TV market there.

The Big two state schools got to where they wouldn't play USM back when they were good.

Why do we need to act swiftly? Realignment that really matters is done. Nobody is itching to grab from MWC, Sunbelt or CUSA. I'd prefer we stay at 8 and not feed any mouths that are really not in the same league.

Go look up the school. Look at their endowment. They have decided to get good. If Freeze leaves they will go get another good coach. They are committed to being good at FB and BB. I think they need to be the first team added to the new AAC.

Stay at 8 FB and 8 BB? I think we need to be at at least 10 for each..... Agree though that before anyone is added Aresco has to talk to ESPN, FOX, CBS, and ask how much $$$$ any expansion candidate adds. If a school does not increase the per school payout or even worse depletes it then NOPE.

I would add App St and either UAB or GA St and call it a day.

There are no schools that really move the TV needle or we would have already added them. We need to be thinking expanded CFP. To get the 6th slot, we need multiple top 25 schools. Those have been more often APP St, Louisiana, & Coastal Carolina with Liberty just outside of these 3. We don't need the MWC, they do nothing outside of BSU except add travel expenses & 10pm kickoffs. UAB, GSU & USM might seem like choices but they don't move the needle for TV (or we would have already added them) & more importantly they aren't finding the top 25. To shore up BB, I'd add 3 strong BB schools - Dayton, St Louis & VCU.

therein lies the rub...in the 'best of the rest' conferences....there really are no teams that bring a lot of eyeballs for ratings.

You're peddling foolishness. It's already been reported that ESPN could not get the ACC to accept WVU. So, they are not interested.

When will the BIG come calling? I'm waiting for that invite.

Coastal Carolina would be a great addition
UTSA looks like they come to play, they played very aggressive against Illinois
Arky state has a decent program
The teams Ike just mentioned play a tough OOC schedule, some how they're able to get these games

I watched some of their game this weekend and they don't seem to have it anymore. I feel bad for them.
