He last played for ND state 3 months ago and graduated but has an extra year left. He's only been a GA since June.

Even if legal it is a bad move. You alienate the other players on the team by taking someone who hasn't gone through camp and throw him into the lineup. Bypassing players who worked all through spring and fall camps.
