Through this site I found the message board for CCU. First of all, it's not intended for non fans to post on the board. Second, I saw some really dumb posts regarding the west division. One commented how weak west teams were holding down the top programs like CCU. Maybe we need to do some recall. CCU was the beat down boy for the conference until last year. They have one good year and now they are the top gun. Funny. If one knows football, you know teams often cycle
from good years to down years and few are always at the top. Do you really think State will be down forever? Or even for two years? If you as good as you think, keep in mind that you are only one hire away from destruction of the program. Few if any teams took Coastal serious last year until late. Do you think that will be the situation this year? I have no problems agaisnt Coastal. I generally do when I see dumb posts. For those CCU fans than have such short memories, you may want to have a few more seasons of success before throwing others under the bus. Remember, "the sun doesn't shine on the same dogs ass all the time"

Not sure where you got this idea. All fans are welcome as long as you're not an a-hole. Yes, you do have to go through some extra security measures to sign up and make your first few posts because - for whatever reason - the Russian spambots really seem to want to sign up for our site. So I have to make it a little more difficult to get in to make sure I'm not accidentally letting any spammers through the gates. That said, if you're a real person trying to sign up, and you're encountering issues, you are more than welcome to email me (my username at gmail).

Week 1 was smooth sailing for most folks! It looks like only some of us learned from last year...last season, every single player in the field incorrectly picked Southern Miss to beat USA in Week 1. This year, only 12 of our 33 participants saw the light and chose USA for the win.

And speaking of - 33 players! I'm pretty sure that's a new record for most players in one week. Thank you to everyone from the Sun Belt BBS forum who is participating in our contest this year - I hope y'all will continue to play throughout the season.

As usual after Week 1, we've got a lot of ties in the standings right now. Don't worry too much if you're way down in a tie for 31st place (like me) - there's still plenty of time to make up some ground over the course of the season. The Bobcats ruined everyone's hope for perfection, as not a single player in the field picked FCS Incarnate Word to win that game. To be honest, USA and Louisiana Monroe are lucky to not be joining Texas State in the "We Lost to an FCS Team" club this week - both the Jaguars and the Warhawks came very, very close to losing their games in Week 03. Overall, there were a lot of close ones this week...I bet a lot of you were on the edge of your seats!

Biggest rise of the week goes to Unknownghost360, who jumped 5 spots from dead last into 29th place. Just goes to show that if you keep playing every week, you can climb up the leaderboard with some smart picks. Biggest fall of the week belongs to a former Pick 'Em champion, Uncle Jessie, who slides 9 spots from 7th place down to 16th.

Another week, another game that every single player got wrong!

Thanks to Troy's loss to Louisiana Monroe, we once again had ZERO people with a perfect week. We also had a majority of players hoping for easy bonus points with by picking Wisconsin and Iowa State - alas, it was not to be.

Biggest rise of the week goes to Benski6, who rose 5 spots from 8th place into 3rd. Biggest fall of the week was Jean Ralphio, who dropped 10 spots from 13th down to 23rd after failing to submit picks in Week 4.

OVERALL LEADERBOARD UPDATE: In past years, I have given everyone the chance to miss 5 weeks of picks before I remove their name from the leaderboard. This year I am going to reduce that down to 4 weeks, as we have a bunch of players near the bottom who picked once in Week 1 and then haven't picked again since then.

Appreciate you putting this together. I've been slipping the past couple of weeks!

Any one else in favor of dropping the UMass and Citadel games going forward? Would much rather pick competitive G5 games. Getting the UMass loss correct the remainder of the year won't drive differences in scoring.

The reason UMass and El Cid are included is because it's been kind of a tradition in the CoastalFans Pick 'Em to keep up with all of Coastal's non-conference opponents throughout the season. I will definitely consider making some changes to that tradition for next season, though (or this season if the majority of people really feel passionately about dropping them now).
