I thought this game was being broadcast by the SEC Network, but I don't see it on their schedule.

Does anyone know if we're still forcing our opponents to take covid tests before each game like last season?

Tandem quarterbacks...
...the ultimate and definitive example of failing to learn from the past. No better example can be found in business or in history books.
Why do college football coaches, over and over and over again, think "this time will be different"? They get to be head football coaches in the first place by being decisive and willing to make tough decisions, but when it comes time to choose a starter they become weak-willed and passive-aggressive. Why is that?

It's ridiculous.
Pick one and ride with him.
Ultimately, it speaks to Bloomgren's inability to recruit a decent QB to Rice though.

Because they watched Florida win a NC a long time ago.

This 1000x. On Saturday, McCaffrey will be the ninth different QB to appear in 31 games under Bloomgren, ignoring the wildcat type of players (Trammell, Fox, Walter).
2018: Stankavage, Green, Marshman, Tyner, Towns
2019: Stewart, Green, Johnson, Marshman
2020: Collins, Johnson, Green
2021: Green, McCaffrey

I disagree. What I see here is a steady progression of improved QB talent (as well as fewer used).
I thought Stewart was a good QB playing for a weak team.
Collins was clearly a fine QB with a great arm.
This season's situation from the coaches' standpoint I think has been made pretty clear. I expect Green to start, McCaffrey to play, and for McCaffrey to become the full-time starter as soon as he gains more of a command of the system.

So we'll start the game and season with a QB who knows - and whose team knows - that coach thinks is second-best; who will soon be replaced by a guy that coach evidently believes isn't ready for prime time. Great. Works every time.

All hail the mighty dollar, even though the game is only on a Plus network. In the SWC, games were either 7pm (until mid October or so) or 2pm.
Now, do you think that if a broadcaster wanted a game played at 730am on a Wednesday, would anyone say no. Goes to the old joke that we have established who you are, now we're just negotiating.....

Some might say, given the outcome of SWC vs. SEC, that the SWC is the example of how not to do things, business-wise.

Agree
Agreed. I of course agree with the "Pick 1 QB" theory, but in this case I don't think it's good for team morale to hand an incoming transfer the job over seasoned veterans until he earns it on the field. He clearly hasn't yet in practice. Hopefully he'll show his stuff on gameday and earn the job.

I don't think Bloom is planning to go with duel QBs. Rather, I think he's going to use the Arkansas game as the final audition to determine who the starter will be going forward.
