RE: Game Week: St. Francis (pa.)
We are paying St. Francis (Pa) $325K to come play us Friday. WI will pay us 1.4M next week.
As I've suggested, for home and homes, the home team pays the away team a nominal amount which basically covers expenses.
So we get 150K from UMass and give 150K to Texas State. Then we'll flip it in the future.

BTW, those of you who like the green stuff, plug in "Kent State' - they will get over 5M for 3 road games...

At Texas A and M, At Maryland and At Iowa will get you some checks - but not a great OOC record. They'd be lucky to win 1 of those games (im pretty high on maryland this year)
An next year theyre at Washington, Oklahama, and Georgia. Just brutal.

Dear Friends,
Kent State has admitted that they are in dire financial times, and that is the reason for all of these money making games.
These games are a double edged sword. It may be a good advertisement for the school, but if you lose them all, and by lopsided scores, some may think your school should not be playing these opponents, or our team is not very good.

Agree. The big problem is that after a few 'body bag' games, the season might start to unravel.
Losing can get contagious.

Maybe returning pop cans wwould be easier. I think last year our payday was over 2 million which we didn't get.

Beatdowns are never good mentally or physically. I think the Iowa game is a good game for them though. The Hawkeyes typically don't run up the score and play methodically. They've also been upset by MAC teams in the past.

Agree. Need a 1a and 1b RB. We have a good 1a and b punch.
Thought I was going to say a 1 2 punch?
Hope Evans still gets some carries. He runs hard (like Ian Eriksen did) and IMO deserves some playing time.
Evans, like Eriksen lacks the breakaway speed. Creighton, however, seems to like him in passing situations. He has good receiving hands and seems to be a good blocking back, a talent that is often overlooked. Personally I think he is a very valuable piece to have on the team.

So a top MAC team, which is what they are COULD beat a P5 team, as we have all seen. Heck, an average MAC team beats poor P5 teams all the time. If I had to bet, Kent's best chances for the W would be Maryland and Iowa. I have personally watched Iowa lose at home to WMU and Ball State. No guarantees but it is why we play the games. Upsets happen.

Preseason rankings are USELESS, especially now with all the crazy wild west stuff happening. Maryland is a definite maybe. Let's not sell our conference short, Kent State could be our best team and Dustin Crum is a really good QB.

This line from the review really sticks it:
It’ll be a win, but it’s Eastern Michigan – it doesn’t know how to not play close games.
I hope this year CC and staff keep scoring and put games away.
