Since 2013, Houston’s football program has drawn an average of 3.33 million viewers on the main broadcast networks (Fox, ESPN, ABC, CBS) when facing Power Five opponents.

Of the Pac-12 teams, only Oregon’s viewership is higher (4.66).

The Pac-12 is examining strategic options in advance of the momentous media rights negotiations, which are expected to begin in approximately 18 months and will herald a new contract cycle in the 2024-25 academic year.

One of those options could be another look at expansion.

If Houston got the call, I think the fans would come screaming back. There is a lot of support just waiting… just need something to be proud of.

Houston and USF has some similarities. Houston was in a power conference (I know they didn’t use that term) back in the day and now it’s had for their fair weather fans to be excited about it. Add them to the PAC and I think they have to expand that stadium.
Usf suffers from similar. Earned or not, we got into a power conference and now, anything less is just not exciting. I don’t know if we can get it back… Houston, I have no doubt.

I was hoping Houston gets the call for the PAC 12 if other teams are going to the B12 from the conference. They got screwed politically as they were rolling back in the day. I would like to see them get their shot again.

While I like the AAC, I think 4 probably 5 teams deserve to be put in a higher level conference as they have proven it on the field and have invested in the university academically and athletically.
