My opinion is as I have stated all along was that Tulane made a very serious mistake in leaving their own statium that was on campus and paid in full , I know there was the upkeep, but that was musch, much less each year than what we are paying wach year.

The most important aspect however, as stated in this morning's Times-Picayune, when Tulane moved out of Tulane Statium, they left behind fan and student spirit, and tradition, the heart and sole of any college program.

Even the homecoming festivities aren't the same, the parade throughout the campus and into Tulane Statium for the game, etc..

The move to me has proved to be a killer.

Tulane Stadium by the late 1970's was in really poor shape and the school desparately needed space on campus for dorms and parking.

It's just about out of the question now to have a football stadium on campus, because of space considerations.

The alternatives are the Superdome, Tad Gormley (not that great of a parking situation there besides other issues) or something else if someone can come up with the property.

If they can't make any money playing in the Superdome that's up to the school to decide how to deal with that. I don't believe that this current administration wants to do anything that would be financially less than prudent, and so it comes down fans showing support and pulling the financial load.

You and I share the same thoughts, its scary. DOn't go on the GWF board an say this because who will be deleted. That is for another day.

As far as another piece of property for a new statium, I have heard from two different persons, that a good piece of real estate located in the back of Audoban Park had been under discussion for about two years. In my estimation, this would be the best alternative to an on campus statium, in close enough local for the student to once again walk to the statium.

In back of Audubon Park? It does stretch all the way to the river.

I know, it has been so long since I have been to Audoban Park, I moved out of the city 19 years ago, I can't imagine where this piece of ground is.
