Youre reading it wrong. It basically meant that nobody from the “Alliance” wants any leftovers. They want the Big XII to remain together since theres nobody worth taking.

And they don't want to play them either.

The alliance is really denigrating the Big 12. They will be limited to the SEC for Power ooc games.

IMO, the B1G expanding with Nebraska, Louisville to the ACC and WVU to the B12 are all proof that the P5 have not been obsessing with academics. These were all football/athletics-based decisions.

Ironically, the SEC’s focus on football will result in expansions that enhance the conference’s overall academic reputation. UT-Austin is a global research powerhouse. TAMU and Mizzou are both AAU members. What makes “power” conferences is that they differentiate themselves from other universities…making themselves an elite club. The future SEC will have just as many AAU schools as the ACC.
