RE: 2021 CFB Coaching Carousel
I’ve wondered if Saban might shock people and retire if they win it all this year. He has seemed more chill and even worn out at times this season than I’ve ever seen him.

Hmm... maybe. He's definitely more chill, but I don't get the impression he's worn out. He's starting to look a little older, but I mean, he's 70, so you can only hide the wrinkles for so long. He has such a well-oiled machine with great support that I would imagine the grind isn't as bad as it could be. He's still under a ton of pressure from the fans, but he doesn't have anything left to prove to anyone.

Going home and frankly, that area of Oregon takes a certain personality to not feel that you are living in the bizarro universe politically. I like to visit but couldn’t live there unless I was out in the sticks.
Those parts of Oregon are something else. It's a crazy mix of the most extreme back-to-earthers with some of the most extreme militia types. Some areas that are straight out of the hollers of Kentucky. And then you get a handful - Ken Kesey and his ilk - who are an improbable mix of the two.

RE: 2021 CFB Coaching Carousel
What an insane year. Assuming Cristobal to Miami is official, that's 27 out of 130 FBS schools making coaching changes, or nearly 21%. And many elite jobs opening, including 3 coaching changes that involved lateral moves. You could argue that as many as 10 of the top 25 jobs in college football will experience coaching changes depending on what you value in a college football job: USC, Oklahoma, LSU, Notre Dame, Florida, Miami, Oregon, Washington, TCU, Virginia Tech. All ten of those programs have either won a national championship or been in the mix for one in the past twenty years or so. And all will have a new leader on the sidelines in 2022.

And he’ll retire when Miss Terry either tells him to or allows him to. Lol

He spoke to the Eagles too. Like Cunningham said, it goes with the territory now.

So...now that Mario Cristobal has been named the new head coach, has Manny Diaz officially been fired so he can go back to Temple? Lol.

That's one of the most wild stories I've for a coaching fire. Almost as wild as, Manny taking two head coaching jobs in like three days.

We need Taylor and Day to stay put. Look up the residents on Stone Barn Road.

If Fickell has a "super agent" these days as has been reported, I'm guessing he's in a valuation mode to get an idea what these other organizations may be willing to pay. A market valuation of his worth serves the purpose of giving his agent leverage with UC for what will certainly be a re-negotation and/or extension of the remaining years here.
There is never certainty in these matters but I feel that Luke wants to stay longer and that our A.D. and President will do everything within their power to make that happen.
Has there ever been a more valuable coach in the history of the University in terms of national exposure, image, and enhanced institutional reputation? UC football has been a big part of this unprecedented makeover for UC that has raised Cincinnati's institutional profile forever. That's objectively measurable in many ways.

That program is just rotten. I know that Cristobal is a Miami guy, but pretty surprising he'd choose to take that job over the one he had.

They've had worse luck with head coaches than we have.

Far worse. Everyone up here thought Cristobal was their guy for the long haul.

One has to wonder if that is the type of program Kilani Sitake would leave for. The Big 12 wrinkle makes it interesting, but Sitake isn't a lifer at BYU even though he is an alum.

He has spent all his career in Utah except for two years and he is a Mormon. Of course Bronco Mendenhall was a Mormon and left for VA.
