RE: How about a ACC SEC alliance instead of big 10/pac12
My question is if Cincinnati goes to the Big12 and has no drop off what so ever would the ACC pursue them when the time comes if need to be??? I think Notre Dame will be the obvious choice at 15 and they would have a say into who, but Cincinnati wouldn’t be a bad choice when the time comes especially if they have been playing P5 ball at that time.

The 2 highest rated teams at the end of the season play in the ACC title game. ND will play 5 ACC teams each season and 1 sec crossover game for 6 total. The SEC and ACC will have 1 crossover game for each school, this will include the 4 rivalry games. ESPN ups the ACC contract. For hoops, the ACC goes with 4 pods of 4 and 18 game conference schedule.

I don't like the idea of an alliance with the SEC because it does nothing for the ACC and possibly set things up for the ACC to be raided by the SEC for Virginia and North Carolina. The other thing is that the SEC has terrible basketball. Part of the reason for the Alliance with the Big Ten and Pac-12 is probably to explore creating a basketball super league and sell to the world via internet streaming. This is a longer term goal as the new TV contracts with the Pac-12 and Big Ten have to be dealt with first. I am inferring this based on the fact that the big driver behind the Alliance is the Pac-12 commissioner George Kliavkoff. The other commissioners admitted this. George Kliavkoff comes from an internet streaming background (Comcast and Hulu) so he knows how to monetize this. The numbers are too big to turn down. The dollars that these streaming companies are making are huge (Disney, Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Viacom (Paramount+), Comcast (Peacock) because they are selling it to a worldwide audience so it is reasonable to think that this is their next move.
