“ For those with Comcast: Switch to channel 1322 and you should find the ACC Network. It will say “sign off” on the guide, but click it on and ACCN will come up. My source thought the deal with ESPN would be done by end of August. That seems to be the case.”

That's great! Glad to hear it. 1322 is kind of high in the channel numbers though. When we got on Fios, we were channel 71/571 and ESPN, ESPN News, ESPN U and ESPN 2 are between 70-76 and 570-576. Are there any other sports channels around 1322 on Comcast ?

It's good that those that want to find it can get it. But there are others who won't search for it who would watch it too.

In Jacksonville the Comcast channel lineup in HD has 1321 as the SEC Network, 1313 as BIG Ten HD , 1303 is CBS Sports HD, 1302 is ESPN Goal Line HD, 1301 is ESPNU HD... and of course now 1322 is ACC Network HD! IIWII....

David Hale: It’s tough to know exactly what this means $ wise because rates vary based on geography but Comcast + MediaComm = about 22M subs which would add about 60% to the current ACCN sub total.

RE: Comcast
Comcast was the last piece of the puzzle, correct?

Outside of some random small companies, everyone who has cable/satellite should at least be able to subscribe to the ACC Network if not have it included in what they already subscribe

They reached a deal with NCTC too, which is a cooperative among smaller regional cable companies. By some estimates, that is another 7-8 million subscribers. As I mentioned in the other thread, that means it is getting on same cable companies like Armstrong in Western PA that have never even carry the Big Ten Network.

People don't realize how big this is. It will add $8M-$10M per School. ACC will solidly be in 3rd for Conference Revenue.

Sounds good. But then we have to see what happens with the Pac12 when they go up for tv negotiations in 2025, I think. If the ACC could somehow get above $50 million per team, it wouldnt be so bad if the BIG and SEC is around $70 million per team.

My Comcast/Xfinity box (Philly area) has 1322 as “SEC Network”. The guide says sign-off. Shows are SEC football.

Comcast pulled the ACCN sometime overnight. Possibly a test prior to rollout.

I'm going to way lower my expectations, and then, hopefully, be pleasantly surprised when we find out down the road. For now, I'm going to assuming the increase from the recent deals is just a couple of $M.

If may be right, but we don't know the true in-footprint and out-of-footprint rates, nor what actually constitutes a footprint (is Philly in-footprint for Pennsylvania?) or things like does the ACC office get a cut?

Regardless, it appears the ACC Network will now be essentially universally available, and that is a great step. Also great that it is getting on some systems in PA that have shut out the B10 Network. Mouse Power.

Most cost estimates I have seen have it at $3-$5 million.

But let's say it's $10. That would be the ACC at $42 million a year.

SEC with expansion and new contract is going somewhere from $45 million to roughly $80 million.

B1G has new contract coming to go from $54 million to roughly $75 Million

PAC 12 is irrelevant but have a new contract coming that will push them higher also.

Being $30-$40 million behind the P2 is not good enough to save the ACC. Simple as that.

Being unable to fill your own stadium past 80% capacity is not good enough to save FSU.

Regardless of what FSU's capacity is or isn't......ACC won't survive with that revenue gap. Your post, like much of the ACC's position's and actions, refuse to address the actual issues and lashes out emotionally.....but truly serves no purpose.

A lot of FSU fans here seek to blame the ACC for FSU's failures.

Here is your attendance over the last decade:

2010 - 86%
2011 - 93%
2012 - 91%
2013 - 91 %
2014 - 99 %
2015 - 88%
2016 - 97% (You reduced capacity 4K seats)
2017 - 90 %
2018 - 86 %
2019 - 69%

You have averaged 11% under capacity the last decade - that's 610K fans.

The fact of the matter is you overbuilt Doak to the tune of about 10% and you can only fill those seats when FSU is spectacular and the opponent is an equally spectacular, Oklahoma, Miami, Florida, or Clemson.

Let's not forget what the ACC gave up inviting you to join back in 1990 when you were at your peak. Your entry into the league cut off Clemson, UVa, NC State, UNC, and GT at a time when multiples of each school were ranked in the top 15. The one extra loss prevented these other schools from appearances in the Orange Bowl, or playing for the National Title. FSU didn't save the ACC, FSU stunted the ACC as it was on the precipice of finally fully recovering from the 800 SAT rule.

It's tiresome to hear FSU fans whine.

The conversation wasn't about FSU. It was about the economic changes from adding Comcast and the overall revenue gap.

For some reason you pivoted to FSU. FSU isn't the issue.

A revenue gap of $30 - $40 million for the ACC will end it. Just reality. Doesn't matter about FSU and what FSU did.
