RE: OT: Crypto Currency
I've owned BTC, ETH, and ADA since the pullback during the third week in May. Basically equally weighted, Ether for its underlying technology, Cardano because of its energy saving technology, and Bitcoin because it dropped so far. BTC would be the first I sell, but my experience is that the liquidity isnt great, so its harder to time a sale. Im sure there are a million ways, but its not a priority.

Agree on Crypto. Holding 30% cash. Too many headwinds with all the Indexes at records.

Right now I traded all of my other crypto for amp, since its the cheapest. I dont know where its going to go, or if its even a good investment, but that was free money from coinbase, so I didnt mind doing that.

Any reason you chose AMP over ACH? I chose ACH just because I understood it better.

One thing is for sure. Organizations with the acronym, SEC (or $EC as I prefer), seems to be associated with greed.

The people in power are using the SEC to do everything they can to slow down crypto. The bigger crypto gets the less power they have.

RE: OT: Crypto Currency
More talk from more greedy capitalists trying to convince crypto investors to invest in their garbage companies by using scare tactics on cryptocurrency investors, who, unlike narrow-minded capitalists, finds intrinsic value in cryptocurrency within a tech company product like they do with company stocks.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/finance.yah...00886.html

Saw that socialist China, whose currency, the Chinese yuan, being more worthless than the dogecoin, is going on witch hunts across their provinces to shut down crypto mining operations while threatening banks, who still accept crypto for monetary transactions.

And that's why crypto prices are going down right now. Because of capitalist scare tactics. I'll ride this bull and tell these capitalist bears where they can stick it.

Yeah...and the SEC is gearing up to really try and stick it to DeFi. They are also going after Coinbase now, but Coinbase has more than enough money to fight back.

Dragging their feet until they can get the regulators hired for Crypto.

They want the industry to become proper with cryptocurrency ETFs that you can buy within your brokerage account.

At least its not the China approach of outlawing the innovation which comes with the industry.

RE: OT: Crypto Currency
I have a fairly good graphics card, and due to my work I typically left the computer on with a 'screen saver' blank out. I used to donate cycles to a protein folding distributed compute project.

About a year and a half ago, I converted the 'wait time' to a miner.

My power bill is up maybe about 10 bucks/mo on average -- helps that I have solar that takes a *huge* chunk out of my overall energy load.

I pop on to NiceHash and let that system determine the 'best thing to mine'. last three months it has picked Ethereum for the graphics, and another mined currency for the CPU dead cycles. Nicehash pays back in Bitcoin, no matter what you mine. And, you can rent out your cycles to a pool if you want.

My setup is currently running at a .042 BC / year clip on the current week running --- about 2k US. And that matches roughly the yearly rate from the get-go. And my extra power is about 100 - 150 bucks.

Cant beat that for essentially a screensaver operation.

Lessons to learn:

The exchange will always give you a higher buy price and a lower sell price than the listed price in real time.

How much would a set up like that cost?

I bought some, about $30 worth of it, just trying to see what it does. Heard that its just like dodgecoin, a viral crypto that will die in a couple of weeks.
