I used to have that small mindset growing up in NC.

That is until I moved to Texas and Houston was "right down the road" at a three hour drive.

I've lived in NC, NJ, MD, TN and Alberta and have driven and flown all over the eastern and Midwest in the US. To imply ECU is at the beach is disingenuous at best.

I'm mostly just screwing around here so no need for the bona fides.

I think I was fairly straightforward that it's a short 90 mins or less to Emerald Isle.

As someone who has also lived in MD, I'm sorry. TN is my next stop so maybe that will be a good one. Alabama hasn't been too bad.

What does any of this have to do with a Boise/UCF thread?

Lol…, you created this by changing the thread title. You put T minus 2 days on it before, so naturally everyone started discussing other games that happen in 2 days. And now you’ve changed it back again.

Does Utah have a lot of BSU fans?
seems like it to me, at least in salt lake

Idaho does have the second largest Mormon population after Utah. I'd imagine there is some crossover there.

There are far more BYU fans in Idaho than Boise State fans in Utah. A stereotype exists that Utahans look down on Idahoans as their “little brothers,” which Idahoans greatly resent. Maybe it’s because we’re 4-0 against Utah, 7-4 against BYU, and 17-3 against Utah State, but most Utahans I’ve had interactions with are hardly Bronco fans…but they do seem to tend to watch our games.

And in my 8 years living in N. Idaho I don't remember any Bronco fans.

Not surprised…North Idaho is WSU (and to a much lesser extent, UofI) territory. Our fanbase is in southern Idaho, except we tend to pull a lot of support out of California, too, as many on the team past and present hail from the Golden State..

I've changed the title several times, always about the Boise/UCF game

Charlotte is a soulless city. All the appeal of a strip mall but none of the ease of parking.

Our new staff is young and very enthusiastic and energetic, a welcome change from the Harsin era. As of now everyone is healthy, unlike UCF who lost their top 2 rb's. Can't wait for this game, have no idea what to expect whatsoever. Go Broncos!

Where'd you go my dude? You've been so quiet ...

So, the final was UCF 36, Boise 31. It is interesting how close the Massey Matchup Tool was on this score (see my third post in this thread). Massey predicted UCF to win 31-30.

Anyway, as a Memphis fan, I was glad to see our conference get the win. Congrats, y’all. I say y’all cause my oldest grandson just enrolled at UCF as a frosh, and was at that game. I believe that he’s still a Tiger fan at heart, though.

My other takeaway is that UCF definitely looked beatable last night. We will see how the season progresses.

I think you are mistaking a couple first game jitters and a delay for actual play. Look at the stats.

- UCF averaged 6.5 yards per play vs Boise. That was exactly the amount of yards per play we averaged last year with Heupel (15th in college football).
- UCF allowed an average of 4.4 yards per play on defense vs Boise. How good is that, you ask... That would've put us 4th in college football last year tied w/ Cinci.
- Boise State was 4-14 on 3rd downs.
- UCF held their rushing to 49 yards on 24 carries.
- We had 573 yards of offense to their 312.

Literally 1 or 2 bonehead plays by us was the only thing that made this game as close as it was.
