Solved the offensive name problem
Move the team to Memphis.

Keep the Redskins name in honor of the Chickasaw tribe that inhabited the area.

You have eliminated the offensive Washington DC name from the team.

So, you do not think the Washington DC area had any indigenous tribes?

I think he's making a joke that the offensive part of the name was "Washington".
Actually, not bad.

Redskin is a slang term for Native Americans in the United States and First Nations in Canada. The term redskin underwent pejoration through the 19th to early 20th centuries and in contemporary dictionaries of American English it is labeled "usually offensive", "disparaging", "insulting", or "taboo".

When I hear the term redskins I don’t think of Native Americans. I think about those delicious peanuts. All they had to do was change the mascot and cheerleader outfits. The possibilities were limitless.

RE: Solved the offensive name problem
the Redskins logo and mascot were not offensive to all Native Americans.
The logo design was aided by Native American Walter "Blackie" Wetzel, a former President of the National Congress of American Indians and Chairman of the Blackfeet Nation.

There are other names associated with Native Americans that are considered slurs...but I still see and hear them.
A person of Native descent who appears to be more Caucasian than red-skinned...is said to be an "apple"..white on the outside...red on the inside.
I say this because 3 of my grandparents have Native American bloodlines...and I heard the word quite a few times growing up.
