RE: JMU Schedule
I don't know what when into the thinking for not scheduling an FBS game this fall, but I assumed it had something to do with the fact that JMU is playing two seasons in one year and they wanted to best position themselves for an extended playoff run this fall/winter.

Correct.

09/03 - Weber State
09/10 - Norfolk State
11/05 - at Louisville

https://fbschedules.com/ncaa/james-madison/

that may be our best ooc schedule. winnable ACC game, top 10 FCS at home and a decent FCS at home

I think we will beat Louisville.
Unlike the usual OOC games, at least it is a little later in the season so our new QB will already have game action under his belt.

Good point, and given the scheduling fiasco last year with trying to piece together a fall season, we were on the phone with so many ADs how did it not come up in the conversation? Like no, our conference or state guidelines say we can’t play you now (fall 2020) but perhaps next season (fall 2021) we could add you.

Weber State? In Utah

Home schedule hard to get excited about.

Maybe JMU just too good to get a a FBS game or an interesting
Out of conference match up

The BIG Game will be in Frisco! Opponent yet to be determined.

My opinion our home schedule is about as uninteresting unexciting I can remember. I'm not seeing any "sell out" games this season.

I'm not including the independent years when JMU had some outstanding schedules including years where they played Va Tech, Central Florida, App State, Ga Southern, Liberty, and Youngstown St all on a home/home schedule (except Tech)

my top years

2010 at VA TECH, vs Liberty, vs Morehead
2008 at DUKE, vs App State, vs NC Central
2015 at SMU, vs Lehigh, vs Morehead
2020 at UNC, vs Chattanooga, vs Merrimack

FBS game plus 2 games at home with one of them being a legit FCS team.
Yes, these were well scheduled years. 2008 in particular stands out in that we had another OOC game scheduled with Liberty that we reneged on. That should have been a 12 game season for us, but we backed out right as the season began and took two off weekends instead.

This schedule was built before the pandemic. No excuse for not having a FBS game AND playing Campbell on HC when we are already playing other ****** OOC teams.

This is true BSKB. There really aren’t any other big games in FCS barring JMU meeting N. Dakota State in the regular season or playoffs.
However, Frisco is conditional based on performance.
Our OOC schedule can be controlled and predetermined. Big difference.
This is where we should be disappointed based on the status of JMU football.

Just think if we replaced JMU with former peer App State for this year’s schedule.
App State @ Weber St
Morehead @ App State
Campbell @ App State

Upon announcement, their fans would think it is April Fools Day.
Then their fanbase would bring pitchforks to the AD’s office.
There is no way a serious football program would look at this year’s OOC schedule and think it was acceptable.
It is a huge opportunity cost for 2021.

RE: JMU Schedule
I just noticed there are no indications of a White/Purple/Blackout game this season which is surprising as it gives them an opportunity to hawk new merchandise in those colors.

I've wondered about that as well, usually it would be on the ticket so I'm wondering if it's something that'll be announced the week of since there are no physical tickets. I hope they still do them.

RE: JMU Schedule
In previous seasons it was printed on the tickets and on the schedule well in advance. I know it’s now just an email, but they should still know when the special games are scheduled (but it’s not indicated on the current schedule). Especially if they need to place large orders to have the merchandise available.

I noticed no #21 jerseys in the bookstore on last Saturday which makes me wonder if they just mailed in this season for merchandise after having a glut last year. Shame because I would have* purchased it in multiple colors.

*Dukester PSA please notice it isn't 'would of' it's would have.04-cheers

Noticed that also when I hit the bookstore prior to last weekends game, was also curious why there were no 21 shirts. maybe they have not come in yet. Saw a lot of shirts with a 1 on them wonder if that is what they are going to this season. Saw some nice 19 shirts while I was there might get one of them.
